The Last Word Kitara
This ultra-exclusive, ultra-secluded boutique hotel is set on the savanna of South Africa's Greater Kruger National Park. An oasis of green against the rugged and wild bushveld of Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, The Last Word Kitara's luxurious lodge and camp are at the center of South Africa's safari country — a place where elephants roam, leopards lounge, and lions roar.
- Set out on safari to spot Africa's Big Five: Lions, leopards, elephants, rhinoceros, and buffalo
- Dine on three-course dinners from decks overlooking the Klaserie river
- Soak in savanna views from the resort's infinity-edge pool
And because "Kitara" is the word for a traditional guitar in the local Xitsonga language, you'll also experience authentic African tribal arts and culture through song, dance, and ceremony. Enjoy an unforgettable evening under the South African stars and sample authentic local cuisine during dinner in a boma, a traditional African enclosure originally intended to keep animals in (or out) and now serves as a center for eating and entertainment.

Six safari-style chalet suites accommodate no more than 12 guests total, making your stay at The Last Word Kitara as tranquil as it is exclusive. Four of the suites sit snugly along the riverbank and boast expansive savanna vistas, while the remaining two chalets are set among the gardens and feature views overlooking the river and infinity pool.
All six suites feature a neutral gray-green decorative palette reflective of the reeds and grasses of the riverbank just off your suite's private patio or balcony. Each room also offers an outdoor atrium shower where you can experience vibrancy of nature au naturel.
Like traditional safari camps and lodges of old, The Last Word Kitara offers one all-inclusive dining option run out of the camp kitchen. But one option doesn't mean dull, but rather indulgence. Cooked or continental breakfasts are elevated affairs meant to up your energy for a day on safari. Mid-afternoon meals can take the form of lunch or high tea. Nightly three-course dinners (with ever-changing menus) revolve around traditional African cuisine with a twist.
Finally, the elegant combination bar/library/lounge also offers evening cocktails accompanied by sunsets over the savanna or coffee and tea in the cool mist of the morning.
Between safaris, soak in the hotel's infinity pool, enjoy a cup of tea at the lounge, or simply sit and let the stillness of the savanna stimulate your senses.
