I had a wonderful time at the hotel, really enjoyed the pool club and the roof bar. Liz was particularly helpful when we wanted to extend our stay, and the same goes for Javari.

How do I say enough wonderful things about my stay at Virgin New York? First time guest at the Virgin Hotel chain and I am hooked. If the other properties are anything like this one, I’d love to visit them all. EVERYONE is so nice who works there! The enthusiasm and professionalism is on point. At the pool one afternoon I observed a guest who was not very nice and was complaining about I don’t know what to the managers. Both listened to this guest and maintained their professionalism, I doubt I could be that nice in a situation like that. A huge shout out to Dakare Chatman who while the restaurant and pool were understaffed jumped right in to help the servers and bar staff. There was a miscommunication with my pool Reservation. They, Jordan and Dakare, were very kind and made accommodations for myself and my guest. Lindsey the pool bartender is an incredible bar tender. The staff at the restaurant, observatory and front desk are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about their jobs. Mo was my server a few times at Everdene, he was great as well. I hope upper management see this and know that they did a great job hiring this team. Thank you for making mine and my best friends birthday weekend stay even better then we’d hoped.

Amazing hotel the pool is so elegant and trendy - Virgin do what they do best staying ahead of the trends with their quirky little touches. Jordan wa literally the best you can ask for in a manager so attentive and engaging - someone who truly understands what customer service is going above and beyond without being intrusive! Daniel by the pool was a fantastic server who stood out as a great employee who take pride in his role and really has that Virgin flair they ar known for. Thank you Jordan you are simply the best!

Just completed a 3-night/4 day stay here and immediately felt compelled to write a review. We booked this hotel because it was part of the AMEX Hotel Collection and usually that means it’s going to be a pleasant stay in a nice hotel. The hotel is located in a desirable location with nice views of the Empire State Building and the rooms are large for NYC. The check-in process was a bit slow, it seemed like there was really minimal staff but the man who checked us in was very nice, told us all about the AMEX benefits and said if we wanted the 2pm late checkout to just let the front desk know day of checkout. After that, everything went downhill. Got to the room and it was fine, it wasn’t the cleanest of rooms but certainly not dirty. My biggest issue is that during our entire stay they did not service the room once. We left the service light on and returned to the room at around 5-6pm every night so it felt like that was a sufficient block of time for housekeeping to come. Service seemed completely non-existent at this hotel in general, despite having a luxury star rating. Called down to the front desk day of checkout to let them know we were doing the late checkout and was rudely told it was unavailable. I totally understand it’s due to availability but the rudeness seemed uncalled for, especially since we were told it was possible during check in. If that was a miscommunication between staff, it could have been handled more politely. Also, several times before our checkout time the housekeeping staff finally decided it was very important to clean the room and tried to enter 3 times. Either they’re severely understaffed or that’s the level of service they are aspiring to provide, which is basically none. That’s why I’m giving it a 2.5 star rating, the service is severely lacking at this hotel, it can’t possibly be a 4 or 5 star class if they don’t even check in on you or service your room. It wasn’t even a 3-star experience. It was cheap, around $300/night, so I guess you get what you pay for but it absolutely should be removed from the AMEX Hotel Collection options. Also, I saw like 5 bachelorette parties in the lobby so I should have known the vibe was going to be pretty tacky from the get-go and the music during the weekend was quite loud. It’s a rowdy party hotel so if that’s what you’re looking for then this is a good place. If you wanted a nice hotel to relax at, book somewhere else.
