Perfect Stay at Rosen Plaza – Comfort, Location, and Relaxation on International Drive

Sun Aug 03 2025 09:52:51 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time) by Neil T

🏨 Hotel Review: Rosen Plaza – International Drive, Orlando. From 23rd July 2025 ⭐ Check-in & First Impressions Arrival was smooth with no queue at check-in. The lobby was spacious, modern, and air-conditioned, a welcome escape from the Florida heat right after landing. Staff were friendly and efficient. 🛏️ Room Quality & Comfort Stayed on the 9th floor overlooking the pool. • Room was spotless, modern, and well equipped. • Beds were exceptionally comfortable, among the best ever experienced. I slept like a baby throughout. • Large flat-screen TV, iron, hairdryer, and loads of sockets including two USB-A next to the bed. • Bathroom was to the left of the entrance, with a full bath and shower, very clean, and quite spacious. The view was stunning , we could see out toward Disney, including fireworks in the distance at night. Quite quiet at night. Housekeeping came every morning around 9:30am 🏊‍♂️ Pool & Outdoor Area • Large outdoor pool with both shallow and deep areas (up to 1.8m). • Warm water, calm atmosphere, and plenty of loungers all day. • A waterfall spa was a nice touch, perfect for sore shoulders long days at the parks. Bar 39 at poolside – had friendly staff and a chilled atmosphere. When you order a pint, expect just over half. A cheaper option? Buy a case of beers from the shop on International Drive, fill your ice bucket, and bring it to the pool 🙃 🛍️ Shops & Dining • A small food shop and café next to the restaurant. • Food was tasty and fresh with menus changing from breakfast to dinner. • Breakfast burrito was huge, easily shareable. • Tried the curry, which was good. • Prices were fair, especially when compared with park food. 📍 Location & Accessibility • Top location at the upper end of International Drive. • Step outside, turn left, and you’re walking straight into the main tourist area. • Walkable to the Orlando Eye, Pirate’s Cove mini golf, and the world’s largest McDonald’s. • Plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops in either direction. • Small supermarkets within 5 mins’ walk (just past Pizza Hut). • Great location for Univeral Parks. $8 in a cab. Disney is a little further out and $15 in a cab. We used Lyft! Did a big stock-up at Walmart on arrival, only $8 in a cab. 🧊 Extras & Tips • Mini fridge in room was perfect for keeping milk, drinks, and snacks cold. • Free ice machine at the end of the corridor. • Bring a Ninja bottle (or similar) and fill with ice and water each morning, stays cold all day and ideal for hot park days. • Heli Tours is just up the road, we are tempted it looks great opportunity. look them up. ✅ Summary & Recommendation The Rosen Plaza offers excellent value with top comfort, helpful amenities, and a fantastic location. • ✅ Clean, spacious rooms with great views • ✅ Friendly staff and good food onsite • ✅ Big, warm pool and relaxed outdoor vibe • ✅ Ideal base for both theme parks and exploring I-Drive Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, in the heart of Orlando. Would definitely return. Very Pleased with this hotel. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Quiet and centrally located

We stayed for 9 days and enjoyed every minute! The housekeeping staff is terrific - so friendly and genuinely happy to see us every day! They took good care of us. The pool is nice and open very late. Every restaurant is exceptional and the wait staff at each place is helpful and really happy to be there. Jacks is so good we ate there twice! There are gluten free options at the grab and go station and the chef was very careful to change gloves to ensure no cross contamination. We were only 10 minutes from Universal and the Lyft ride was cheap! The room was quiet and comfortable and we would definitely stay here again. The convention center is next door connected by a sky bridge, which was so convenient. This was a great week! Thanks to everyone!

Pleasant Conference Hotel

Sat Jun 28 2025 20:52:03 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time) by 127stevenj

We are in Orlando for a conference at the Rosen Plaza. It's a medium-sized conference hotel, with a beautiful pool, and accessible ballroom and meeting rooms. Our room was advertised as having two queen beds, but they're closer to full, or smaller-than-usual queen beds. The room is reasonably nicely appointed with a mini-fridge, safe, and small bathroom. Due to heavy rains, we ate at Jack's for two evenings. It's a fairly long walk to any other restaurants, etc. along International Drive (in the Universal area), so we also ate breakfasts and lunches at the Rosen Plaza restaurants and shops. Prices were high, but probably not out of line for the intensely touristic Orlando resort area. In addition to our conference, there were three other conferences taking place in the hotel at the same time. At times, there were long lines at the coffee counter, at the little shop with some pre-prepared foods, etc. We only had brief waits for Jack's. We ordered off the appetizer menu both times we ate at Jack's. We ordered crab cakes both times (yummy!), bruschette once and calamari once. With a glass of wine and a slice of key lime pie, our first dinner was about $90. The second time we treated some friends, so the bill was correspondingly higher. Our server the first evening was Assim, who was very good. Our server the second evening was also good, but I didn't catch her name. On the second evening, a caricature artist employed by the restaurant came by our table, but we were already on our way out, so we didn't sit for any caricatures :-) We had brought some materials for the conference, and asked for a luggage cart to move it from our room to one of the meeting rooms. A cart was not available for me, except with a bellman ("We are a full-service hotel"). So, I carried the materials, and made three trips. Otherwise, staff was very pleasant and helpful.

What an amazing hotel.

First time in a Rosen hotel, definitely won't be the last, reception staff friendly and welcoming, was christmas time when we visited, the tree in the lobby truly beautiful and there were toy soldiers outside. Our room was on the top floor, views were between the i4 and international drive, we could see magic kingdom fireworks albeit a way away, room big, two king-size beds ( very comfy) a big flat screen TV on a large cupboard with coffee machine, with safe and fridge 3 massive drawers for storage, full length mirror and a desk with office facilities and another mirror, all lamps have usb charging facilities, one lamp next to bed, comfy armchair in corner and a large heater and air conditioning unit which was extremely efficient and quiet, unlike many hotels that sound like there is a monster breathing hard within the walls. Bathroom has a lovely shower/bath , extra towels if needed and separate sink and mirror with socket. Wardrobe in area next to bathroom and large plenty of hanging room, space for luggage storage, laundry bag iron, ironing board and hairdryer, extra pillows if needed. Housekeeping very efficient and friendly, Laundry stations on two floors. In the lobby there is Jack's place a upmarket steak house which we didn't get to try ( next time maybe) Smoooth Java a great coffee stop And a shop that sold swimwear and gifts. Out in the pool area. Lovely freeform pool with a waterfall spa/hot tub.. We spent many days lounging in the hot tub, not sure all the jets work though as they didn't appear to all be on even though we did try. We did notice one guy smoking, I didn't think that was allowed, some people incapable of following rules and trying to ruin it for others. It might have been cool at times but that didn't stop us from getting in the pool, yes I know crazy English 😂 39 poolside bar and grill, we had a couple of meals there, brisket burger and chicken tenders. Very generous with portions, on the last night we decided to have a jug of mojito, our server brought it over and said ' there you go party animals' 😂😂 One sad day was when we found out that Jack Rosen had passed away. Thanks to him The Rosen Plaza and the other Rosens exist. Our hearts went out to all the staff that day it was a solemn one and no surprise he left quite a legacy. Free car parking and no resort fee. It was sad to leave, thank you to all at the Rosen Plaza for a most wonderful stay, we most definitely will be back.

Lovely holiday stay

A very clean hotel that is well maintained. Staff are very friendly and happy to help. Breakfast was very nice although the only change each day was the potatoes. Swimming pool was nice and clean. Bedrooms are nicely furnished and maids left the room spotless. More of a business hotel than leisure but I am glad we picked it. About 10-14 mins to Universal and 20-25 mins to Disney. Would recommend.
