Accommodations

Gentle hues, hand-painted tiles, and plush furnishings give the 235 guestrooms, 65 suites, and 3 penthouses the tranquil ambiance of a contemporary Spanish hacienda. Spacious guestrooms feature beds with 300-count Egyptian Cotton linen, Keurig personal brewers, honor bars, and private balconies with spectacular views. Suites are even bigger, including a living and dining area — ideal if you are traveling as a family.

For a glimpse of the resort’s legendary past, choose one of the 22 Wallace Neff Historic Rooms. Built in 1934, they retain some of their original features and now offer modern comforts — including a multimedia station and WiFi — and a complimentary breakfast for two at The Oak. For an even more sumptuous experience, the penthouses are highly recommended. One gives you exclusive spa access, while the other offers space, privacy, and exceptional views of the Ojai Valley.

All guestrooms and suites feature an in-room iPad that connects you directly to the resort’s services, there is a daily complimentary newspaper, lavish fine bamboo terry towels, and luxurious cotton bathrobes. You can request additions, including a mini-fridge and toddler beds with luxury bedding. Staff are always available to assist with any queries, and pets are also very welcome.

Innovative and unforgettable dining experiences are at the heart of a relaxing vacation at Ojai Valley Inn, which offers a wide range of delicious cuisine. The resort sources local ingredients, ensuring every meal is fresh and full of flavor, and focuses on creating distinct ambiances whether you are having breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Ojai Valley Inn Dining

Olivella – Chef Andrew Foskey presents authentic Italian cooking created with regional produce, paired with expertly curated wines. Go for stinging nettle bucatini for a new culinary experience or the chef’s family-recipe spaghetti bolognese for a true taste of Italy.

The Oak – Dine alfresco for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this relaxed restaurant featuring dishes seasoned with herbs and spices from the resort’s garden. The name is inspired by its spectacular views across an expanse of 200-year-old oak trees.

Jimmy’s Pub – Meet friends at this lively venue serving gourmet pub food, like pan-seared salmon, and wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas, which are perfectly complemented by award-winning craft cocktails, and original microbrews on tap.

Spa Café – After a revitalizing spa treatment, stop for a light breakfast or lunch at this casual café. With a crisp combination of vegetables and energizing superfoods, the Health and Wellness Bowls will prepare you for an afternoon of activities.

Indigo Pool – Sit back and admire sweeping valley views as you dine on small plates and enjoy handcrafted cocktails at this poolside eatery. An eclectic mix of fresh ingredients creates a wide-ranging menu, including shrimp ceviche, vegetable crudité, and healthy skinny wraps.

Pixie Pool – Spend time with the whole family at this lush poolside spot, with tables shaded by vine-covered pergolas. An extensive choice of kids’ plates and sharing platters will keep everyone going for a fun afternoon in the sun.

Libbey’s Market – For a coffee or a quick bite to go, head to Libbey’s take-away counter. Serving everything from hearty sandwiches, to granola, and bagels, it is the perfect place to pick up a custom-made picnic before a day of adventures.

Wallace Neff Heritage Bar – Named for the region’s famous architect, this distinguished bar offers a tempting menu of cocktails and lounge fare. Freshen up on a hot day with a lavender lemonade, or combine seasonal small plates with A Clockwork Orange for a tasty aperitif.

Activities at Ojai Valley Inn

Ojai Valley Inn Activities

In the soothing atmosphere of Ojai Valley Inn, you can bask in the Californian sun and seek healing treatments inspired by the ancient Chumash Indians’ sacred land. A Personal Experience Planner will help you balance an itinerary of golf, yoga, and art classes, as well as horseback riding, bass fishing, and downtime by the pool. Revitalize body and mind at Spa Ojai before finding a romantic spot for the "pink moment," when the valley glows a vibrant red just before sunset.

Beyond the resort, hire bicycles and head into town to visit art galleries, and taste local honey at the farmers’ market. Next, take a whale-watching excursion, or rent kayaks at the beach to spend a relaxing few hours paddling along the Golden Coastline.

Location

The peaceful, verdant valley of Ojai became the setting of Frank Capra’s mythical Shangri-La in his 1937 film, Lost Horizon, and it has retained that sense of utopia ever since. At Ojai Valley Inn, you are a short cycle ride from the center of town, with its artisanal markets and boutiques. The Pacific Ocean is just 14 mi / 23 km away.

Everyone was great. It is a beautiful location and we had a great stay. We were here for the Food & Wine event and really enjoyed it. I would love to come back next year and do it all over again. The staff was very helpful and the food was great. Thanks for everything

My first experience at The Ojai Valley Inn Food & Wine festival and it exceeded every expectation. Exceptional chefs and winemakers in one of the prettiest destinations in California. The hospitality is next level as well. I have been to many food & wine festivals and this one is far and away the best. Do not miss

This was one of the best trips we have ever had! What a wonderful place -- staff is amazing as well as the beautiful grounds are breathtaking! It was our anniversary and everyone made it so special - to an upgraded room, wonderful surprise of champagne and chocolate - amazing spa experience and truly wonderful dinner at Olivella's with a wonderful view and a nightcap at Wallace Neff. Truly a great experience! We will be back for sure!

A stay, amenities and service I would've expected to pay half the price for. I'm fine with an expensive property as long as it provides value and I feel like I've been indulged. For some of us, there are only a few times a year we're able to get away and do something like this and we need to make it count. This one felt disappointing.
