In the heart of Manhattan’s exclusive Upper East Side stands The Mark, an iconic 1927 building transformed into a luxurious retreat by legendary designer Jacques Grange. Its 100 guestrooms and 53 suites are proudly bold in design and lavishly appointed, ensuring a sound sleep even in the city that never does. With award-winning Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten looking after your appetite and celebrated hairstylist Frédéric Fekkai taking care of your look, a break at The Mark will leave you feeling enriched, informed, and awakened.
The Mark is a beacon of high-end French style and modern American comfort. From the moment you step into the Art-Deco lobby, with marbled monochrome-striped flooring and bold geometric shapes, you understand the true meaning of a five-star travel experience.
In contrast to the playful and bold décor of The Mark’s public spaces, the guestrooms and suites have been modeled in 1930s Paris and designed to calm and soothe. The 100 guestrooms and 40 suites feature furnishings of ebony and sycamore, as well as fine Italian linens and bedding by Quagliotti on custom-made beds. Relax at the end of the day in your deep-soaking tub in the Art Deco-inspired bathroom, featuring black and white marble, then wrap yourself in plush Flemish towels.
Luxury services are at your fingertips. Get a pampering or styling by world-famous hairstylist Frédéric Fekkai, a John Lobb-certified shoe polish, or exclusive access to luxury department store Bergdorf Goodman and a personal shopper. Sit back as you are chauffeured to one of Manhattan’s museums in The Mark’s Pedicabs or set off with a gourmet picnic basket to Central Park on a custom bicycle. You can also work out without leaving the hotel by asking fitness expert Dan Flores for a tailored session at the state-of-the-art fitness center.
Whether you prefer a power breakfast, cocktails with friends, or an extraordinary dinner, The Mark meets your desire with high style and faultless fine-dining service. The restaurant’s full menu is offered for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and a late-night menu is available.
Spend the morning indulging yourself at Frédéric Fekkai’s salon with a new look, massage, or signature beauty treatment. Afterward, order a lunch-to-go picnic basket filled with gourmet delicacies created by Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and hop on a custom bicycle for the ultimate picnic in Central Park.
Within walking distance of Museum Mile, you will enjoy the best that New York’s cultural scene has to offer. Visit the Met, the American Museum of Natural History, or stroll through the many landmarks of the city’s biggest park, including the Central Park Zoo. Spoil yourself with a trip to one of the world’s premier shopping destinations, Madison Avenue, featuring some of the biggest names in fashion.
The Mark Hotel sits within New York City’s most opulent neighborhood, with a coveted address in the heart of the Upper East Side. You can walk to the city’s premier cultural attractions, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Guggenheim, and Central Park.

i had such high expectations, seen all the pix from the Met Gala guests, etc. well, for average folks, eh, it wasn't so special. i had emailed in advance, the most minor of requests-a newspaper in the room, a tempurpedic pillow, bottled water-never happened, i followed up THREE times when i arrived, nada...the room itself was interesting, a courtyard junior suite, 2 full bathrooms which was great, as i had a guest sleeping on the pull out couch. another mini drama getting that pulled out each nite. it all seemed too much work for a luxury hotel. the front desk staff was lovely & empathetic. our room rate included breakfast(another issue, that was denied at checkin but i had the actual reservation on my phone). breakfast was exceptional, albeit expensive. we also had dinner there on fri nite. fantastic, excellent service.

The hotel is not only classy, but cool as well. The hotel is not only classy, but cool as well. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable and beautiful decor. A generous closet and the nicest amenities. Service overall is excellent, the staff is super friendly without being overwhelming. Feels like an elegant home at the Upper east side. Loft the experience with delicious culinary options, Jean George breakfast in bed, Caviar Kaspia for lunch and the fun pop up for shellfish and a glass of rosé. I’ll be coming back as soon as I can!!

The best part I have to say is the staff! especially the concierge team, it's unbelievable how quickly they get things done. Kudo to Maria ,Krista,Narciso,John and Suzana. The hotel is our favorite in NYC, nothing is comparable so chic and classy.

The Lowell was full where I usually stay so booked The Mark thinking it would be comparable bc of location and price. Not even close. Robotic service, hideous decor, tacky clientele. Zero attention to detail. It seemed staged for instagram posts, especially the new crab shack outside. No heart and soul. Laughable amenities including a drawer full of free Hershey Bars and Oreos. Steer clear. A pig in lipstick is still a pig...

The Mark isn’t just sumptuously lush, it’s welcoming to family and dogs, the staff is endlessly kind and helpful and the service is A+. We stayed for a few weeks and would never stay elsewhere. Just the best in every way. Stylish and super chic, you would be forgiven if you thought it’s all about the Mark name or reputation, but it’s truly the warmth of the front desk, the smiles and pleasant nature of the bellman, and the super-connected and knowledgeable concierge that make the Mark so special..
