This was a terrific walking tour of this icon hotel. We have hard about the hotel for decades and this was the fisrt time we were able visit it and the area. Our guide was fantastic!! Five stars all the way. She was able to give us a sense of the hotel and area throughout its history and the famous and infamous characters involved with the hotel. Little know facts were also great,

My husband stayed at the resort this week for a conference. At check-in, he was given a room with a beautiful courtyard view, but as night fell, the tree frogs started singing. They were very loud and he had trouble getting to sleep. He requested to be moved and within 30 minutes was relocated to a new quiet room. He was very impressed with the high quality customer service from the front desk and bell staff!

TERRIBLE! Such small rooms, no AC unit, the bathroom was tiny, and I’ve never been sicker in a 36hr span than I did staying there… woke up after the first night with sinus issues, then got worse and worse.. the only time I get better was when I left the resort to golf… there has to be mold in the rooms because that’s exactly what these symptoms are like

Dreadful, long ride from the airport. Very dreary looking from the outside. Kind of “The Shinjng” vibe to it. Long staircase to enter lobby, though there is one very tiny elevator you can use. Can barely fit you and luggage. Rooms actually very nice inside. Long, long walk to convention area. Worst convention food I have ever had in over 45 years in business. Worst service as well. Sister property smaller but rooms are a lot nicer. Guess they call it a resort because there’s a golf course nearby and they have a small spa? Smoke from casino chokes you in the convention area. Gross.

The room was comfortable but fairly small. As it was out of season there were only a few of the restaurants that were open. There is a very nice market with grab and go food options and a Starbucks. The Starbucks also had a small ice cream service with 6 flavors. The ice cream is homemade, probably high fat but it is excellent. We did have 2 meals at the Power Plant, both of which were very good. We also got food from Pluto’s Pizza which was really good and some of the best deep dish pizza that I have had. We did do a good walk around the grounds of the golf course and also spent some time at the indoor pool. The pool area is nice but not useful for swimming and the hot tub was located outside rather than inside. It’s a bit of a trek for us to get there but we’re considering going back in the Fall.
