For travelers to Las Vegas, Nevada, The Strip and its neon lights, over-the-top casinos, and endless entertainment are in the undeniable hub of the city. But for those seeking a more authentic experience—one where the city’s culture, food, and local entertainers take center stage—Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino is the perfect off-Strip place to stay in Sin City. Its out-of-the-way locale allows the hotel to flourish in ways others cannot, with amenity-rich stays designed for families, friends, couples, multigenerational groups, and even solo business travelers. Set in the heart of downtown, guests will enjoy easy access to nearby attractions such as The Mob Museum and the Fremont Street Experience, while the Strip and its casinos are just a short drive away. Highlights of the hotel include:

The staff are compassionate and do a wonderful job. They care about thier guests experiences and always try to be helpful. The casino games are so fun to play, with attentive staff ensuring you have fun and are taken care of. The room was clean and had a great view. The pool is a great depth, with a lawn deck full of games and couches that don't need to be reserved.

Stayed at the Downtown Grand from 8/8 - 8/10 and could not have had a better experience. Friendly staff, very clean and comfortable room (stayed in the Gallery Tower), and unbeatable value with the $250 Summer Weekend Retreat package, which was $250 total for 2 nights and that included a $100 F&B credit, 4 drink vouchers, and a 1pm checkout (not sure if the late checkout was standard but they did give it to us which was awesome). Great home base casino with friendly dealers. Perfectly situated near Fremont Street but quieter than staying on the street itself. Mere 5 minute walk to other incredible casinos. Chicken Sandwich and Mojitos by the pool were unbeatable. $3 PBR and Hot Dog combo also unbeatable and we had this many times. Pool itself was really nice - very limited shaded poolside loungers though, so recommend getting there at open or getting lucky. Highly highly recommend staying here. This was my first time staying downtown in Vegas and i think it's a much better experience than staying on the strip IMO. It's very walkable to casinos and restaurants (including pizza rock across the street - don't miss it! get the wings too). I can't wait to come back here soon!

It was really clean, close to everything downtown, everyone was really nice except the 2 males bartenders at night on 8/8, couldn’t see their name tags, felt that was intentional, however Jodi, bartender next day made up for it she was super fabulous, wish she was there the night before, we would have stayed at the bar longer. Hopefully management will read this and see who worked that night, both were rude and ignored us. Would stay here again as everything else was really great, and I recommend this hotel.

Horrible service. We gave them a second chance and what a mistake!!! As a local doing a staycation I thought the first experience was a fluke but I have now learned they do not train their staff and have forgotten this is a town known for their hospitality. I would not recommend staying at this to a local let alone a friend visiting from out of town!

Cute, hip, right in the heart of Fremont, and all this at a discount. It's in the heart of a busy city, so don't expect a soundproof sleep, but if you party hearty and wanna make your money last the longest, the sleep will be there. Close to everything, grab a slice at pizza rock, even if you're a pizza snob.
