Set in the heart of California’s historic wine country, Carneros Resort and Spa is a celebration of its exquisite surroundings – ingredients at its three exceptional restaurants grow in the kitchen garden, and the fine wine you sip while checking in is sourced from neighboring vineyards. Lauding the beauty of its tranquil location, the resort crafts a genuine sense of relaxation in Napa, from the sanctuary-like suites, cottages, and private homes to the Spa at Carneros, the on-site wine events, and the two swimming pools, both offering majestic views.
Head to COOP, the resort’s very own luxury boutique, where you find big names sharing space with new talent, featuring brands such as Clare V, Figue, Frank & Eileen, and Golden Goose. Visit the shop’s full-time embroiderer at the customization station in order to personalize your garments.
Each of the resort’s 86 luxurious, farmhouse-inspired suites, cottages, and private homes offers tranquil seclusion and high-end amenities. Front decks are furnished with rocking chairs, bathrooms sport heated slate floors, and unique outdoor showers complement the patio and garden areas. Each of the Harvest Cottages and Harvest Suites comes with a fireside butler, who will light up your open fire and prepare your outdoor bathtub for a memorable alfresco soak. Select accommodations offer sweeping views of California’s vineyards and hills.
For an idyllic escape for the whole family or a special occasion that deserves extravagance, choose one of the expansive two- or three-bedroom homes, featuring 2,400 sq ft of indoor space and 1,400 sq ft of outdoor space. Highlights include a lofty, 16-ft-high “great room” with a dramatic fireplace, a full kitchen, French doors that open up onto a courtyard, and an elevated sundeck lounge for cozy, conversation-filled evenings.
Hop on your complimentary bicycle and head to the general store to pick up gourmet provisions for a picnic or a home-cooked meal, or let the concierge arrange for restaurant meals to be served in the comfort of your home. Enjoy complimentary yoga and Pilates, as well as usage of a luxury chauffeured vehicle for exploration around the valley. Your canine traveling companions are welcome.
Dine well at Carneros Resort and Spa’s signature restaurant, FARM, where local produce and wine feature heavily, or pick up donuts from rustic favorite Boon Fly Café. Enjoy a stunning view alongside a light meal at Hilltop Dining Room, drop by poolside Otto’s Snack Shack for a casual bite, or visit general store Market for a gourmet picnic hamper.
Watch the sun rise over the fields from one of the two swimming pools, or take a yoga or Pilates class in the outdoor studio overlooking the vineyards, all before indulging in a treatment or two at the Spa at Carneros, ranging from a green tea mud body wrap to a soothing massage infused with lavender, mandarin, and rose oils. Then hop on your bicycle to stop at the upscale general store to pick up gourmet picnic supplies up for a delightful adventure beyond the exclusive village resort.
Explore the vineyards beneath the glorious California sunshine to find the perfect picnic spot, or head to the di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art to see works by local artists. Arrange for the resort’s chauffeured Cadillac to transport you to a reserved table at one of Napa’s many excellent restaurants or to a round of golf at one of the four 18-hole golf courses within a half hour’s drive. For the best view of the valley, book a hot air balloon ride, followed by a chilled champagne brunch upon landing.
In the heart of Northern California’s wine country, between Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley, Carneros Resort and Spa is just off scenic Highway 12, placing you near some of the biggest names in West Coast wines. Less than an hour north of San Francisco and Oakland, the resort is surrounded by open fields, lines of vines, and gentle, rolling hills.

We booked two cottages for ~$1,400 a night each, for 2 nights. Save your money and skip this resort. We arrived late the first night after flying 4 hours and driving 2 hours, to not have any bedding in the rooms for the pull out beds. In one of the cottages, none of the outlets in the bathroom worked for 2 days straight. We had to blow dry and style our hair in the living room with no mirror, ahead attending dinner at the French Laundry. When the misogynist “engineer” came to address the issue unsuccessfully, he demanded to only speak to a male in our group. Don’t also bother calling the front desk or concierge in the morning either - no one will answer even after 3 attempts. We were also given late check out, but no one reprogrammed our keys, which delayed our departure. When we communicated these concerns at check out, the front desk said someone from management would be reaching out to discuss further. No one has reached out over 24 hours.

We loved our stay at Carneros. Our cottage was perfect in every way. We loved the private outdoor space (and shower), the large bathroom with heated floors, the comfortable bed… there was plenty of closet space, the room was easily temperature controlled, and we enjoyed sitting on our front porch at night in our rocking chairs. The grounds are magnificent; it is incredible to see the gardens and flowers so well manicured especially during the summer when most of the area is dry. The pool is as advertised: relaxing, spectacular setting, great service, killer view. The gym has everything we needed. Breakfast by the pool was a treat, dinner at Farm was delicious, and lunch at Hill Top was excellent. And we loved our massages at the spa. The team was responsive, helpful, and thoughtful, we appreciated the small touches as we celebrated our anniversary. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we play to return again!

My wife cried when we left...Haha we don't get out too much because of our little ones but we decided to spend a few nights at the Carneros Resort and Spa. We live about an hour and a half away from Napa Valley and when looking at the Resort we loved how unique the concept of your own cottage and private backyard felt. The experience was everything we imagined. We had a harvest cottage king I believe which had an outdoor shower and bathtub. We did not use the shower or bathtub at all indoors. The bathroom floors are heated and it's a large bathroom. It's hard to leave the property as it really has everything you need from the Cafe to the nice restaurant and var as well as a market, spa and even a boutique. The fitness center and kid's pool was also very nice and accommodating for young families. The staff was very engaging and made each person their feel special. The food and drinks were very good and affordably priced for such a nice resort. We will be annual users of this resort and try to break away for a weekend getaway when we can. My wife is in love with this place an already wants to come back as soon as possible.

I had a wonderful time at the Carneros Resort and Spa. The resort is a five-star, family and dog friendly resort in Napa Valley. My guests and I had a terrific time. The service is attentive and friendly. The food offerings, at several restaurants on site, is outstanding. And the resort is close to wineries and fine restaurants in Napa Valley. I highly recommend!
