Carpet old needs replacing. Balcony door would not lock. Can’t deny location is great. Main strip and beach right outside the entrance.

My wife and I visited Alohilani for six nights on our honeymoon. The hotel was very nice - you're greeted inside by a large aquarium, and the staff at reception, parking/valet are very friendly. We enjoyed our room on the seventh floor with an east-facing patio. The pool was small and very crowded in the afternoon, and the chair availability runs out quickly, but we still enjoyed looking out of the infinity pool towards the ocean and good angle towards the sunset. We had lots of tasty frozen cocktails by the pool, and the food is decent. Expect high prices, but not outside the norm of other hotels and restaurants in Wakiki and Oahu overall. The TV options are limited compared with our other hotel stays. You can Google-cast Netflix, Hulu, and some other non-mainstream services, but Max, Prime, and other streaming sites are not supported. On Demand is about $22 per movie. Our note for would-be travelers enjoying a special occasion is that my wife and I did not receive any acknowledgement of our honeymoon from the hotel or staff after we got to the hotel. When asked if we were traveling on for a special occasion when I booked the hotel four months prior, I exchanged emails confirming our honeymoon, and received responses congratulating us. We arrived at the hotel and did not receive any acknowledgement of our special visit from the reception staff. On our fifth day, I asked the reception staff if they had a note that we were on our honeymoon in our reservation, which they confirmed, yet they still made no effort to make this a special visit or get to know us. As my wife who worked in hotel guest experience for 10 years said, they did not do anything to "surprise and delight." We were surprised, coming to a five-star hotel, that there were no personal touches to our trip after several confirmations of our honeymoon. I wondered why we were asked ahead of time and why the note was made to our reservation. If you are going to travel on a special occasion of your own, consider other options if you want a more personalized and unique experience.

Don’t waste your money! This gym used to be good, but not anymore in my opinion the current management has a poor attitude and lacks local market insight and customer service skills. They sent an email advising they would be increased the gym membership prices from $160 per month to $295 per month this is an 85% increase. The gym is small and gym equipment is not maintained. In my opinion the staff lack skills in customer service and in my opinion they behave as if they are socializing with their friends instead of being at work. On a practical level there are often no towels in the shower facilities , no soap , no toiletries such as razors and hair combs, but there is a lot of attitude from the staff to the point that they make sure that you feel uncomfortable being there. Often the gym assistant is in the restroom talking on her phone instead of helping with the facility and customer requests. I’m not sure if this is a five star service facility but if you ask me it’s deteriorated since the new management started in February 2025. Very disappointing , don’t waste your time or money.

I was disappointed by my stay and would not recommend this hotel based on my experience of service. The hotel promised to be good but did not meet expectation of a 5 star resort and the price. The cleanliness of the room was not up to standard, with long black hairs from the previous guest left all over the shower. These remained for my whole stay, showing the bathroom was not cleaned at all during my stay. Staff made commitments to do things, that were never followed through on. The shower ran out of shower wash and was only replaced when we asked for it. The hot water was turned off for a day from 9.30 to 5.00. We were unable to have showers or use any hot water and were not offered any compensation We paid extra for the Longboard club, but due to a conference that was being held, part of the area we had paid extra for was sectioned off and we were not able to access it. Finally, the made mistakes with the payments and tried to overcharge me for a stay that had already been paid for, which took one week for them to resolved and come back to me with an apology. While the facilities are great, the level and quality of service are not what I expect from a 5 star hotel. I have stayed in Waikiki before at 3 star hotels and this stay did not provide a better experience. For future visits I will go back to other less expensive options where the service level is the same.
