Luxury in London's Covent Garden Neighborhood

L.V.X.

Middle Eight sits in the heart of Covent Garden, an area steeped in history, shopping, entertainment, and attractions. The hotel takes its name from the musical term "middle eight," a type of musical interlude or bridge that differs in character from a song's melody and is used to inject variety through a change of key or tempo. Middle Eight works in a similar way, enhancing the Covent Garden area with its luxurious and modern accommodations, while still holding strong to the heritage and character of the neighborhood. Guests of Middle Eight can:

  • Stay in contemporary rooms featuring bespoke toiletries and Egyptian cotton linens
  • Dine at Sycamore and savor authentic Italian-inspired tastes and flavors
  • Enjoy a live performance at the hotel's bar and nightlife hot spot, QT
  • Take a stroll or catch the Tube to see some of the city's best-loved landmarks
  • Ease into a warm bath surrounded by luxurious marble and soothing, radiant-floor heating in one of the hotel's sumptuous suites

Harking back to 1912, the building that Middle Eight calls home was originally a Methodist church called Kingsway Hall. Known to have some of the finest acoustics for recording classical orchestral and choral music at that time, Middle Eight continues that theme of live music and performances throughout its dining and entertainment venues.

Dining

Taking its cues from London's cosmopolitan approach to food and drink, Middle Eight's dining program offers three venues, each providing a modern twist on traditional cuisine. You'll dine on authentic Italian-inspired food at the hotel's flagship restaurant and bar, Sycamore, and its two other eateries, QT and The Balcony.

Middle Eight Sycamore Restaurant Bar

Sycamore – A local hang-out offering authentic Italian-inspired all-day dining along with a full bar, Sycamore offers guests a chance to experience a shared service style of dining in a fun, sociable, and informal atmosphere with minimalist contemporary design featuring mid-tone woods, a brass sculptural bar, banquettes, and leather chairs.

QT – Dark and moody, with hunter-green drapes and richly stained wood floors and accents, this basement bar offers guests not only a welcoming place to sip cocktails and nibble on light bites, it's also a space for live performances and nightly entertainment. The menu is made up of small plates and is served in a "grazing" style.

The Balcony – Secluded and quiet with a low-slung ceiling and walls lined with bookshelves, The Balcony is Middle Eight's mezzanine bar and restaurant, giving guests a quiet area to nurse a glass of wine in the evenings, have a light lunch during the day, or enjoy breakfast in the early morning.
