Surrounded by bright green coconut plantations and set on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean, the five-star Sea Cliff Resort & Spa Zanzibar is the perfect exotic island escape. Lounge by one of the infinity pools. Enjoy a hot stone massage at the Zuri Rituals Spa. Indulge at the resort’s five restaurants and bars. Tee off at the island's only golf course, and then go windsurfing and wakeboarding. With the clean, blue waters of the Indian Ocean as an idyllic backdrop, this extraordinary resort really does feel like something out of a dream.
Hang out in the huge recreation area and play pool or table tennis — or take one of the complimentary bicycles for a spin. You will have no trouble keeping your kids entertained, as the resort is home to trampolines, a splash pool, and a kids’ club with a mini climbing wall.
With tiled floors, lanterns, and muslin-draped beds, the resort’s 120 guestrooms are chic and relaxing. You can see the Indian Ocean from most balconies or patios, while other rooms overlook the palm-dotted tropical gardens. Deluxe rooms come with a freestanding whirlpool bath, and, as you recline for a soak, you will be gazing out over the trees toward the aquamarine waters of the Indian Ocean.
Interconnecting rooms are available if you are traveling with friends or family. The hotel can also provide cots, and arrange babysitting so you can enjoy a night off. For your convenience, personal laundry service is available, as well as 24-hour room service.
Sea Cliff Resort & Spa Zanzibar’s two restaurants and three bars have a laid-back vibe, with open-air thatched pavilions that make the most of the tropical climate. Dine on local and international cuisine at Mangapwani and Kobe, and enjoy sea breezes and idyllic views at Zanzibar, Jetty Bar and the Beach Bar.
Gaze at endless ocean vistas from a sun lounger, or head to the watersports center to enjoy complimentary kayaking, paddle-boarding, and sailing — or try your hand at water skiing and tubing. Play a game of beach volleyball, and keep fit with Technogym machines in the gym. Indulge in Africology treatments in Zuri Rituals Spa, and hang out in the sauna, steam room, and plunge pool. Swing by the stables and go horse riding, or play a round of golf at the nine-hole seaside course or the delightful Cliffer's Cove Mini-Golf Course located next to the ever-popular Kids Club.
Away from the resort, visit Stone Town to explore the atmospheric alleyways and fascinating architecture influenced by African, Arab, European, and Indian cultures. Haggle for souvenirs in the bazaars and stop by the house where Freddie Mercury, the legendary Queen singer, was born. Take a boat to Changuu Island, home to giant Aldabra tortoises, and visit Jozani National Park, where you can see the rare red Colobus monkey.
On the northwest coast of Zanzibar in Tanzania, Sea Cliff Resort & Spa Zanzibar is set on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean. The resort is the ideal base from which to discover the Unesco World Heritage-listed quarter of Stone Town, just half an hour’s drive away.

The food was excellent — every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The views are simply incredible, making it one of the most scenic places I’ve ever dined. The staff were so attentive and welcoming — special shout-out to Rose, who went above and beyond to make our visit extra special. There’s more than just dining here — we tried the watersports and had a blast on the banana boat! Plus, the free mini golf was such a fun bonus. If you’re in Zanzibar, this is the perfect spot to enjoy great food, amazing views, and a little adventure all in one place.

Doreen, Abou, Ally and Margret were amazing! The photos on their website does not do the resort justice. The three pools are huge with an option to swim in the see at the jetty. It’s looks newly renovated and the half board is more than enough to keep you full for the day. The resort is perfect for people looking for a quiet time and be unbothered by the locals and then to take a bus to stone town or nungwi if they feel adventurous. 100% would recommend to anyone looking for a beach/swimming holiday. If it’s your anniversary they give you free extra treatment for a day. Cake, fruit in bed and more snacks for bed time, just bring proof of said marriage.

Overall we had a very nice week at Sea Cliff. The hotel is beautifully situated close to the sea and the buildings are well decorated. The staff had a very welcoming attitude with a smile. Especially we had outstanding service from Musa and Laurent. Musa made every dinner very special and Laurent did a tour by feet to the local village which we will never forget. The food is very good with a lot of vegetables and variation. However guests must be aware of constant music from speakers or orchestras in the restaurants all day - this is not a place for quiet dining. The fitness room was well equipped but unfortunately there were no windows towards the beautiful surroundings - this is a great pity. There are bicycles but you have to pay if you want to go outside the hotel area.
