There was a nice view of Lucerne! Everything was extremely over priced!! The rooms! The food and drinks! It got a lot of visitors wondering around too so why did we pay so much if it’s free to visit for others. Staff was just okay. Restaurant staff was nice though. They should offer a tour of the grounds for those staying there or something to make it worth the trip and expense??? I was told my room comes with a view of the mountain, but actually my view was the parking lot in the back no View to sell it as View parking lot be honest

A very beautiful hotel at the top of Lucerne. About a ten minute walk from the Chapel Bridge if you use their elevator that takes you down. Nice breakfast and the staff are very friendly and helpful! The view is stunning and some of the rooms have AC.

This hotel is beautiful, the room was beautifully decorated, and the bed was super comfy. The only thing there is no air conditioning in the rooms with lake view that are not suites. When I looked at TripAdvisor, I chose hotels with Air conditioning. I should have looked at the individual room amenities. The more expensive rooms have air conditioning, but I did feel the room was on the high side. Typical for Lucerne, we found. The hotel lacks a gym or fitness center, but we were there to walk and hike so that was not an issue. There was no air at the check-in anyway I would also encourage a multi-plug for these rooms because there were only two outlets to charge. It is a true "room in a castle". The view was unbelievable, and we loved looking out the window! The area below the hotel is quite interesting, and I would not want to be out too late at night in that area. However, only a few blocks off is the Old City so you only have to walk a short way. It was cool to look up at the castle everywhere when we were walking around the city. Lucerne was much more enjoyable than Zurich. So, stay, stroll, sip, and eat!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The views of Lucerne are incredible! The hotel is historic and beautifully decorated. We really enjoyed having drinks and snacks at the American Bar on the patio in the evenings. The breakfast buffet was also delicious with seating on the patio overlooking Lucerne. The city bus pass was included so it was easy to either walk into town or take a bus. Also it was easy to go between the hotel and train station on the bus. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside was no air conditioning, but they had fans in each room. We hope to return for another stay at Hotel Château Gütsch!

This is a beautiful and phenomenal hotel, and I highly recommend it! The rooms are spacious and decorated in a charming, classic style, with very comfortable bedding. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and made our stay even more enjoyable. The views are absolutely unbeatable. The funicular provides easy access to town, and it's just a 10-minute walk to the Old Town. The bar area is lovely, it is on the pricier side, but well worth it for the atmosphere. A wonderful stay overall!
