Some of the city’s best shopping is nearby, while the bustling old town and its countless restaurants are a pleasant half-hour riverfront stroll away. For a change of pace, book a lesson with a professional surfer to experience rugged Basque Country beaches while learning to ride the waves like a pro.

We were in room 83, which I believe is on the top floor. It was very clean, nice view, nice bank of windows that could be opened. Good location across from the Guggenheim also nice area for walks around the neighborhood. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was nice. Breakfast was typical of European hotels--nothing special but nice. We did not experience the traffic or other noise that other reviews have mentioned. Maybe because we were on the top floor. Our room had a couch that was pretty much unusable because there was no light nearby for reading.

We stayed here only one night on our way to San Sebastián. As others have mentioned, the location was great to visit the Guggenheim. We had a lovely view of the park and Guggenheim. Room was clean and nicely appointed. What stood out for us was the staff. We were having issues finding an available bus to San Sebastián. The front desk staffs knowledge of the system was invaluable and they were able to find what we needed. Thanks again!

We went to Bilbao to visit the Guggenheim and Hotel Miro was the perfect place to stay with its location directly across the street from the museum. It exceeded our expectations in every other way too. A small hotel with a jewel of a lobby with comfy leather chairs and a cozy honor bar where we tasted Basque wines and relaxed after hours at the museum. The room was well laid out and had a big bathroom with excellent Moulton Brown toiletries. I can’t say enough about the delicious, plentiful breakfast and the delightful Josu who greeted us by name each morning. Local breads, jams, cheeses, ham, and cakes; special toasts with avocado or tomatoes; eggs cooked to order; and real newspapers to linger over! My only quibble is that our museum view room, #54, did have a view if we twisted into a corner and leaned awkwardly. But we were happy to do that as the museum is magnificent. I’ll finish by gushing over the staff. Ahead of our arrival, they sent us restaurant suggestions and made us a reservation for our choice, which was excellent. When we had trouble getting bus tickets, they navigated the confusing website for us. Everything was done with warmth and sincerity. Hotel Miro is a real gem.

Elegant hotel across from the Guggenheim museum. Room looked exactly as on the picture on their website. Spotless! My room was in the back with no view, but I didn’t care. Soundproof. Professional, engaging staff. Loved the library on the lobby.

My wife and I visited Bilbao, Spain in May 2025 and stayed at the Miró hotel, right in the heart of the city, with a magnificent view of the Guggenheim Museum. Our room was spacious and well organized. The breakfast buffet offered a variety of choices including local favorites. The hotel staff provided magnificent service. We toured the city on foot. When we needed to travel beyond the city boundaries, the metro station was within walking distance. Despite the frequent rain showers, Bilbao’s timeless artistic beauty, and the sunny disposition its people proudly display, make the city a delightful destination Ricardo
