Start with an alfresco breakfast of Basque sausage and Idiazabal cheese on the rooftop overlooking the Guggenheim Museum. Continue your journey into Basque gastronomy at The Gallery or Olio and head to the rooftop or the Sixty-One lobby bar for evening cocktails.
Wake up to views of the Guggenheim Museum, then work out on Technogym equipment in the wood-lined fitness studio. After a day exploring Bilbao, recharge at Wellness by Domine Spa. Banish tension in the sauna or steam bath before having a Balinese, Swedish, Ayurvedic, or Californian massage. In the evening, head to the rooftop and watch the light fall on the Guggenheim — a scene so beautiful it could hang on the gallery’s walls.
Your first stop has to be the world-class works displayed in the Guggenheim Museum and Fine Arts Museum. Wander along the river to the Casco Viejo, or Old Town, to explore winding streets dating back to the 1400s. For shopping, the Robert Stern-designed Zubiarte Shopping Center is a five-minute walk away and Bilbao’s Golden Mile of boutiques is also nearby. Complete your Bilbao experience at one of the city’s many Michelin-starred restaurants.
With a coveted address in Bilbao’s arts district, The Artist Grand Hotel of Art is on the doorstep of the Guggenheim Museum. The Fine Arts Museum and Iberdrola Tower are both a five-minute walk away and the historic streets of Bilbao's old town are a pleasant stroll along the riverfront.

I could not recommend a greater place in Bilbao. The drinks are lovely, the rooftop bar gives a great view of Giggenheim and the town, the floor bar has some of the best cocktails. Thank you to Eneritz and the rest of the staff for making our visit an unforgettable time. I will for sure be back for more sangria and aquarius!

Great Stay with Stunning Views We stayed at *The Artist Grand Hotel of Art* in Bilbao in early August 2025 for a weekend trip — my two teenage boys and I — and had two rooms with spectacular views of the Guggenheim Museum. Check-in was excellent: valet took care of the car and luggage, we got an upgrade thanks to credit card perks, and early check-in made things even easier. Rooms were comfortable, well-designed, and had bathtubs we loved after long days out. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was a highlight — fresh, complete, à la carte or buffet, with stunning city views. Housekeeping was top-notch, including an evening turndown with whimsical touches and aromatherapy for sleep. The front desk team answered every question with enthusiasm, and special thanks to Paz in housekeeping and Alex at the bar for their warmth and attention. Dinner at *The Gallery* was excellent without breaking the bank, even though the menu also caters to high-end tastes. One drawback: the windows need better soundproofing. The square in front of the hotel sometimes hosts protests or street musicians, and even when fully closed, the windows let in noticeable noise due to a gap between the frame and the pane. Verdict: Wonderful service, comfort, and views — fix the windows and it’s near perfect. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

In good conscience I cannot recommend this hotel. The location is excellent, the valet staff exceptionally friendly and informative. The rooftop lounge is wonderful for a view and a drink. Unfortunately our 6 night stay was unpleasant: Night shift front desk staff are either unwilling or unable to call police regarding 30-40 YELLING people in the street outside the bar right next to the city side lobby and our "upgraded" room on the 3rd floor. This happens every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. Night shift front desk staff are uninterested and unaware if the lobby bar is staffed, even during "open" hours 5pm-1am. Night shift front desk staff had us park our own car in the valet garage. My advise, choose another hotel, unless you get a Guggenheim facing room for €800/night. At the very least do not accept a room with a city view as it is not an upgrade. Don't plan on using the downstairs bar in lobby, rooftop is only option. Be prepared to be be your own valet parker. Don't expect help from any member of the overnight front desk staff. Simply our experience, but not worth the money.

Very nice hotel situated across from the Guggenheim. We enjoyed our 2 rooms for our family of 4. They were nice and clean, and quiet. The rooftop breakfast was very nice as well. Staff was mostly helpful.

A mixed experience. We checked in for two days and the room was great and definitely 5*. Went away for one night and returned for a further two nights and unfortunately the new room was not of the same standard. We spoke to the young receptionist (name began with A). She said she couldn’t do anything and was quite dismissive of us really. The room was small, noisy, things were broken (blinds, extractor fan) and very much not 5*. On the second night, a gang of kids had a street party opposite our window with loud, loud music. I rang reception twice asking if they could ask security to speak to them and the receptionist could not have been less helpful. Breakfast was amazing, breakfast staff lovely. Lady with the blonde hair and glasses who checked us out- fantastic. Otherwise, sadly the hotel was an expensive disappointment.
