We stayed at Farol Hotel for a special occasion and opted for their most expensive room, hoping for a luxurious experience. While the ocean views were undeniably beautiful, the room didn’t quite live up to expectations. There was no private outdoor space—no balcony or terrace—and the large windows meant people on the nearby road and beach could easily see in, which meant there was no privacy. The view had to be hidden with blinds. If I were to stay I would opt for a balcony or terrace room - they looked far better. The decor aims for an artistic, gallery-like feel, but unfortunately, for us personally it missed the mark slightly and creates a rather odd and overly dark ambiance, despite the stunning natural light outside. The outdoor common areas also have gorgeous views, but the seating and loungers are more worn than stylish. The design leans heavily toward brutalist concrete, which can feel a bit harsh against the natural beauty of the coastline. If it's your thing - you will love it. That said, the location is excellent. You’re right on the promenade—perfect for long runs or scenic strolls—and it’s easy to grab an e-scooter and explore. Cascais itself is a charming town with plenty of good dining options and a relaxed vibe. Ove

We had a wonderful stay at Farol Hotel. The location is absolutely fantastic—right on the ocean, with stunning views that you just don’t get tired of. What really made our stay special though was the staff. Everyone was super nice and genuinely helpful. We did have a small issue with our room, but the front desk manager handled it really well. She listened carefully and came up with a solution that turned things around and made our stay really pleasant. One of our favorite parts was sitting outside in the evening, enjoying a drink while watching the waves and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. If you’re coming to Cascais, Farol is definitely the place to stay. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

We love to return here. The food is pretty good and the view still stuns me. They are improving the property, visible at the pool bar and the staff is very kind. The room was cozy and has everything inside for a boutique hotel, keep in mind to check the art.

We just got back from staying at the farol. Overall we would not recommend this hotel to stay in. Staff were nice but very slow. We weee never approached and sat at the restaurant for over an hour before getting drinks. When we would lay by the pool we were the only couple that would not be served (we were a-lot younger then the rest of the crowd). Room was nice but the bathroom smelt like sewage the entire stay. NOTHING was complimentary if you touched anything in the room you would be charged, renting bikes is a fee, etc. after checkout about 6 hours after we left we were hit with a 50 euro bill for a supposed “stolen pillow” we were accused of stealing when this NEVER occurred. this ended up being refunded but extremely upsetting to see when traveling to Europe there is no space to take a large bed pillow nor did we want to! The outside of the resort did jot look like the pictures it needs to be up-kept and needed a power washing. Over all would recommend another place to stay if you don't want to be disappointed and hit with a hefty bill. I will say the staff is extremely nice and helpful but the hotel is overall poorly run.

Lovely views but no comfy chairs under a shade. Good cocktails, wine and snacks on terrace. Reccomend meaty croquettes and yummy octopus crisps. Staff slow, had to chase every order. Seats hard under cover. Worth a quick drink looking at sea. Wonderful art, like a gallery, worth a visit for that alone.
