Sorry to say it's not what expected of a five star rated hotel. I booked four nights in the club level floor. Upon check in at club level, the staff was nice. However the hotel smelled of formaldehyde and it's very dated. The room assigned to me was pleasant but had a low ceiling and I explained to the front desk staff of my anxiety on tight and low ceiling rooms. I requested to cancel my booking. After checking with their management, they tried to accommodate my by assigning and upgrading to an executive suite. I previewed the suite and tried to give it a chance. I sat in the living room watching Tav and really had this strange feeling of something unnatural. The room as clean but very dated and about 100 sq meters with separate before and bath. In between I had appetizers at the club lounge. Nothing worked for me on the food side. The drinks were ok and the staff was very nice. Again, it was not worth the money they charged and the whole weird vibe of the hotel, I offered to pay for one night just to get out of the booking and yes it was that bad - sorry to say. I checked into the new world hotel around the corner which never disappoints.

We have stayed at this hotel several times. Although the building itself is aging, it is arguably one of those properties in Makati that still have some charm. The rooms are very comfortable, the staff are warm, friendly and professional. It is worth mentioning Ms. Hannie in The Club Lounge who did her outmost to serve us, and Ms. JC at the breakfast. The Lounge itself is one of the best in Manila and worth paying for.
