We enjoyed the excellent central location and impressive architecture of the Amerikalinjen over our 3 night stay in Oslo. With a friendly staff and excellent breakfast, it was a great base for exploring the city. Our room, a superior explorer, was adequately sized, with a very comfortable bed and excellent soundproofing. Climate control was also good. The quality and condition of some of the furnishings in the room were less than you’d expect from a hotel that aspires to being the best in Oslo.

Had a short vacation in Oslo and stayed at this fabulous hotel. Smack in the midtown of Oslo, close to all facilities and places of interest. The striking thing about the hotel were the staff. They were great and kind. Very attentive and answered all our questions even though they must have heard them some many times a day from others. The room was well kept, clean and comfortable. Good selection of food at breakfast including hot food and espresso coffee which was appreciated. Would not hesitate to return to stay again.

From the moment arriving, the staff-especially Thea, (built also Mia) swept us off our feet. The warm welcome after a very early flight arrival was much appreciated. The Superior Room and the Superior Loft with balcony for my son, were outstanding. On top of that, the breakfast was nothing short of sensational. Its location right next to that super efficient Train Station was a blessing as its the hotels location near iconic places to visit

Looking at reviews, the Ameriklinjen caught both our attention and our travel friends. The hotel is in a very good location. We arrived from the airport by train (highly recommended) and the hotel is across the street from the station. The room was comfortable with one exception. It was warm and the A/C did not cool the room enough. The breakfast buffet is very extensive and good.

I would highly recommend when staying in Oslo. Its central location right next to the main train station makes it a breeze to get around the city, it has an intriguing historic background and the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. I also really appreciated the portable fan in the room, as it can get quite hot in the summer these days. I need it cold to sleep well and slept like a baby with that addition. The room is on the smaller side for two people (but normal for a European city) but makes up for it by being well-appointed with a chic little bathroom. I also loved having breakfast every morning in the beautiful atrium.
