We were informed a week before our visit that the pool was going to be closed for maintenance. This wasn’t ideal as it was one of our main reasons for picking the EQ having stayed at other hotels in KL previously. The staff could not have done more to go out of their way to make up for this. Special mention to Anna and Krishen who made the stay so special. The club rooms are really lovely, spacious and well laid out. The spa is amazing. Drinks at Sky 51 are really special with great views over the city. Sabayon is a wonderful restaurant. The gym is the best hotel gym I have ever seen! Highly recommended!

Had a really nice stay at this hotel, staff attention to your stay/experience is top notch. Food was great, the room was great the views of KL are superb. Within easy reach of some of the major shopping malls and markets was a big bonus. Our only minus for this hotel was the pool was closed for our stay(maintenance during Ramadan) and we were not informed before we flew which we were looking forward to, however the guest experience manger, gave us access to the club longer on 50th floor as compensation. This gave us access to breakfast afternoon tea and evening canapes with drinks for free for the duration of our stay as compensation. This was a real bonus as very luxurious private lounge away from all the hustle and bustle. The Sky 51 bar is a great way to take in the evening skyline coming to life with all the tall buildings in KL lighting up. Great hotel with great staff.

We had the most amazing and unforgettable time during our 4-night stay at the EQ from 20 Feb to 24 Feb 2025. The hotel is a sleek and modern structure designed with sustainability in mind, which has earned it Gold certification in green building design. Inside, the hotel features amenities and facilities befitting of a 5-star hotel. Upon entering the lobby, there is a 4-story spiral staircase that is a work of art in itself. We arrived very early at 9:00 am from a nearby 5-star hotel and inquired if we could check in early. We were greeted warmly by Ms. Aslina, the Director of Guest Experiences. She informed us that our room was ready and we can check in early! Ms. Alina also informed us that due to a mix-up with our reservation at the Sky51 bar (due to a private event), we were her guests for Sunday brunch at Sabayon. She escorted us to the 50th floor (Equator Lounge level) where we checked in. We were given a refreshing drink and moist towels to cool down. She then escorted us to our corner room on the 49th floor and showed us the room features. OMG! The room was clean, spacious, and modern. And the view from the windows was amazing! We can see the Petronas Twin Towers and all the other landmarks from the bed. The bathroom has a luxurious soaking tub with Bvlgari toiletries. We explored the beautiful infinity pool and state-of-the-art Sanctum fitness center on the 29th floor. The water in the pool is a comfortable 24° to 25° C, and the warmer vitality pool nearby contains therapeutic jets to massage our sore muscles. Siful, the pool attendant, was attentive and helped us open up the large shade umbrella. We ordered sandwiches and he promptly brought them along with some extra towels. The gym is open 24 hours and contains professional-grade cardio and workout equipment, along with a complete set of free weights. There are separate locker rooms with showers and recovery facilities, including a Himalayan salt sauna, tropical monsoon shower, and aromatherapy steam bath. The Sanctum Spa is also on this level. We did not use it but the attendants there were very hospitable and greeted us every time and brought us water. The dining options at the EQ are numerous. Our room gave us access to the Equator Club lounge, which serves breakfast, afternoon tea, and happy hour drinks and snacks daily. We enjoyed drinks & hors d'oeuvres there daily. The staff at the lounge, including Anna, Krishen and Shuk, always greeted us with a friendly & welcoming smile and provided great service. We had breakfast daily at the Nipah buffet, which has more variety & selection than the lounge. The service there was also outstanding. We ordered a sandwich for lunch at the bistro Étoile one afternoon and it was delicious. We went to Sky51 bar on Friday night. The place was lively with good music and awesome views. However, the drink service was not up to the excellent standard that we had experienced with the rest of the hotel. Our Sunday brunch at Sabayon made up for the disappointing experience at Sky51. The chef came out to talk to us and explain the 4-course menu. The staff there checked in on us regularly and the dishes were beautiful and delicious. Overall, we had a fantastic stay at EQ. There are many 5-star hotels in the area, but based on our experience, there is no EQual.
