My wife and I spent our honeymoon at the Kichwa Tempo AndBeyond camp in Kenya. We cannot speak more highly of the experience. The first thing we need to mention is our safari guide Moses. He led our game drives which was morning and night for 4 days. He was polite, respectful, funny, and an expert in all things safari. He made the drives entertaining and educational at the same time. He made us feel safe while on game rides, ensuring we were comfortable and happy with the experience the entire time. The safari itself is a once in a lifetime experience. We saw almost every animal we wanted to, and the landscape/views are amazing. The drives themselves were executed and operated very well, on time every day and Moses allowed us to dictate which areas we spent time in to try to see specific animals. The resort property was beautiful and it sat right up against a grassy area where giraffes and elephants can come and eat. The restaurant was very nice, but a little buggy when eating outside. The bar and lounge area was a great way to relax after our ride. The pool looking out onto the landscape was a great way to refresh in between the morning and night rides. The food was very good at each meal. We especially enjoyed the coffee and breakfast cookie they left with us each morning before the game ride. Overall a really great experience and would highly recommend.

An experience above the rest! We were blessed with an amazing guide, Peter who was knowledgeable, patient and kind. From our room attendant, Sopia and dining attendant, Ann, everything was perfect. The drives were amazing and beautiful and we saw the Big 5 within the first 24 hours of being there. Peter went above and beyond and made the drives fun, educational and thrilling. There is nothing like returning into camp after dark with a heard of elephants on the road home. You are greeted by beautiful, kind people who go above &beyond to make sure you feel like you are at home. The Kenyan people are beautiful and kind and warm. I was devastated to leave and became choked up when saying goodbye! The attention to detail and gestures from champagne in our room to flowers on the bed, to a decorated candle lit dinner has not been matched in our travels. We hope to return to Kichwa Tembo in the future.

This was the first stop on our honeymoon in Africa — and what a way to start! I absolutely recommend it. Everything was spectacular, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The staff played a huge role in making our experience unforgettable… truly every single one of them. Nicholas our guide was the best, also Edward, Joshua, George the chef… The food was delicious, buffet — comforting and full of flavor. It really made us feel at home. Bush breakfast with Nico… the best experience. The tents were excellent — Every detail made us feel pampered and special. I would return in a heartbeat. We visited during the rainy season (afternoon ride), but it was still a beautiful and very pleasant experience.

Another great stay at Kichwa. This was my 3rd trip there. What makes it special are the people. Fred Kool, our guide for all 3 trips, is why we come back to Kichwa. He is an exceptional guide but more importantly he is a wonderful person. He loves his job and his guests. We saw 38 different lions, a leopard, cheetah several times, rhino, and everything else you would want to see. He is the best. The service staff is great. Our room was spotless. Kevin, our butler for 2 of our trips, takes special care of me. I have type 1 diabetes and need help keeping my insulin cool when out on drives or other activities. He was always prompt in getting me my coolers in the morning from the freezer and putting them away at night. Knowing you have someone caring for your medical needs makes a trip like this less stressful. The lodge is nestled in a forest so there are animals near the tents and as you enter and exit. There is an area just outside the gate that we named "The Garden of Eden." There is always something to see as you drive through it, one time we had a lioness stalking a zebra. The location of the lodge is perfect. It is at the top of the Mara Triangle. You don't waste time driving to the Triangle like other lodges and the Triangle isn't as busy with vehicles as the other side of the Mara River. We went out very early two mornings and I felt we had the Triangle to ourselves. I can't say enough about Kichwa. A perfect stay.

What can I say...the experience you get here is second to none. This place excels in every way. This was our second trip to Kichwa Tembo...and it was even better than the first time. The camp is a prime location for game viewing and our guide, John, did an amazing job leading our family on drives for 4 days. We got a great variety of all of the land in the vicinity. The camp and tents are amazing...it's been there a while now, but is kept up extremely well and tents/rooms felt fresh. The food at Kichwa is just so good and every meal impresses. I also love the picnics they pack and occassional outdoor dinners they serve. To us, it's just "wow" every time. The best part of the food for my family, however, was how Chef George went out of his way to accommodate one of us with celiac disease, a gluten allergy. George made sure from the moment we walked in that that every single thing she was served was gluten-free with no cross-contact. She didn't get sick at all for the 5 days we were there. This meant the world to us and I can't thank George and the entire staff enough. If you're considering a safari...just stop looking at book with andBeyond. They do such a phenomenal job.
