My husband and I stayed for three nights and, unfortunately, left underwhelmed. We had just come from several true 5-star resorts earlier in our trip through Europe and arrived here with high expectations. First Impressions & Check-In- On arrival, the property felt dated and more business-oriented—reminiscent of an ’80s conference center. Check-in was delayed when the team couldn’t locate our reservation, which was frustrating after a long day of travel when we were eager to settle in. The carpets have stains all over them and just behind the lobby there is a musty/smoky smell that I did not enjoy walking through multiple tomes a day. Dining & Service- We dined at Brasserie. The food was fine, but service felt rushed and impersonal. Part of the charm of traveling in Ireland has been the warmth and friendliness of the people, and this experience felt more like dining in a busy New York restaurant with little interaction or hospitality. Breakfast was similarly average—the eggs tasted powdered, the pastries were a bit stale, and service was inconsistent. We waited quite a while to be acknowledged when seated outside, which delayed our start to the day. Across our stay, tracking down staff for basic requests seemed to be the norm rather than the exception. Amenities & Convenience- We were told there was a shuttle to and from Killarney, but there wasn’t—meaning extra expense for round trips via taxi or driver. Coming directly from Doonbeg, where this service was included, the difference was noticeable and detracted from the “5-star” feel. Rooms & Comfort- The rooms are spacious and updated, but the air conditioning struggled during a warm spell, making it difficult to sleep comfortably. Overall- The location and views are undeniably stunning, but the service and amenities fell short of 5-star standards. While this may be a solid 3–4 star hotel, the lack of personalized touches, inconsistent service, and missing conveniences make it hard to justify the luxury label.

It was our 15th wedding anniversary, so we wanted to find a nice restaurant to celebrate. We chose the Panorama at the Europe Hotel. And it was a perfect choice. From the very first moment, we felt this place was special. We were given a table by the window with a beautiful view of the lake. The food was delicious, and the portions were just right. My wife ordered goat cheese salad and I had rabbit loin. For the main courses, we had monkfish and steak. Since we were already full, we only had one dessert to share. All the food was delicious. Our waiter and manager ( sorry can't remember your names) did everything they could to make our evening was special. I would recommend this place to everyone looking for nice food and great service. We will definitely be back.

My first time at The Europe and I was not disappointed. Everything about this resort was amazing. The staff anticipate your choices before you’ve even thought them 😀 I felt like royalty. special shout out to the bar man Robert who always made us feel special, finding a table in a very busy bar, remembered our drink choices etc. I will be back.
