We have stayed in hotels around the world and have never experienced a place quite as unique, dramatically beautiful, and thoughtfully constructed as Coulibri Ridge. It is at the same time the highest end luxury resort with the best service we have ever experienced from the entire staff and also a successful experiment in entirely solar powered living. The whole complex is itself a kind of solar power plant (though you’d never know it) that gives one hope that tourism could be truly green. There two stunning infinity pools, a 5 star restaurant, a spa, and beautiful yoga pavilion, and rooms that are as tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished as any you’re likely to encounter. Frankly, though there is much to do on Dominica, I would suggest giving yourself time just to enjoy being on this property from where you can take walks in the gardens and explore the nearby town. And just a word about why the staff were so amazing: they all clearly believe in the mission of the place, which is to serve as a proof of concept for green tourism that doesn’t sacrifice any of the comfort you’d expect from a 5 star resort. A testament to this is that many of them have been working with the family that developed the concept for a decade or more. We’ll never forget our time at Coulibri Ridge and are deeply thankful for the care and love that went into its creation.

Our stay at Coulibri Ridge was truly amazing for the following reasons: luxurious accommodations; incredible food and drink (thank you Chef Damien and Kadeem); fabulous service (thank you Serena, Kadeem, Sharma, Keon, Mina, Marcia, Eddie . . . our drivers, and others unnamed here; please forgive any name misspellings); amazing activity itinerary curated by Eddie . . . . Coulibri is absolutely beautiful. The fact that it is "green" certified makes it even more impressive. Dominica is spectacular. It is a must see island for its beauty, unique sites and, most especially, for its people. We (my husband and I) stayed six nights. It was a good amount of time; although, we could have stayed longer! We added daily board (lunch and dinner). Our breakfast was included. We either ate breakfast, or lunch, but not both. We liked having the option to choose one or the other, depending upon our activities on a given day. (When I was younger, I might have eaten both meals!!) I've never had any desire to do an "all inclusive", until Coulibri. My experience in the past was that the menus were never appealing enough to warrant more than one, or two, dinners on site. Coulibri's nightly menus were themed . . . unique, dependent upon the available food sources. The table settings and food presentation added to the dining experience. Coulibri tops our list of places to stay!

I had become acutely stressed from the daily grind and booked a somewhat last-minute 5 day/5 night trip to Coulibri Ridge. I was deciding between Ladera or Jade Mountain in St. Lucia vs. Coulibri in Dominica. I wanted a more peaceful and remote setting so chose Coulibri. My husband went along for the ride, literally knowing nothing about where we were going. We had a wonderful time at this resort. The pictures speak for themselves - the place is stunning. Architecturally and environmentally... so green and clean, and just so darn pretty. We stayed in a penthouse sky suite with private pool and did absolutely nothing except swim, eat, read, relax, go to the spa, and tour the grounds. I needed to be lazy on this trip, but I look forward to returning in the future to hike, snorkel, dive, visit Soufriere, do yoga, etc. There are 3 things I would like to highlight based on our experience at Coulibri for any readers out there weighing options and making travel decisions: 1) the food program is outstanding. We are foodies and were shocked by the variety, quality, and flavor. 5 out of 5 stars!!; 2) the spa experiences were very notable - massages, facials, and also a great body wrap featuring a completely edible concoction Noreen whipped up on the property with cacao, bananas, papaya, etc.; and 3) the entire staff goes out of their way (without being overbearing or annoying in any way) to make you comfortable throughout your stay. We were never pressured to do anything other than just chill and enjoy, which is not always the case when going to a resort or lodge. As indicated by the other reviews, this is a special place that exceeded expectations and delivered an extraordinary travel experience despite the fact that I did very little on this trip. Highly recommend.

Coulibri is a magical place. Besides being an engineering and architectural marvel, it’s absolutely beautiful. No matter which way you look, the views are breathtaking. Each night, we’d sit outside and gaze at the stars—not a bit of light pollution in the sky. Our room was perfect—open, airy, nicely decorated, and comfortable. The resort is gorgeous but the people who work there are the soul of Coulibri. It’s a small resort so you receive a lot of individualized attention but it was never too much/uncomfortable b/c they respected your privacy. Everyone who worked there was genuine and warm with wonderful senses of humor. They want to make sure you have an amazing experience on the island and the resort. They helped us plan the perfect itinerary to explore the island and every guide we used was fantastic. Chef Damien is so talented and fun to talk to. We ate every meal on the resort and not for a second did we tire of the food b/c each day it was different but always creative and delicious. We explored the grounds, rode the e-bikes, swam in the pool, and be sure not to skip a massage with Noreen. The spa is small but absolutely perfect with amazing views and a gentle breeze. I was continuously amazed that Coulibri Ridge is 100% off the grid—it runs flawlessly. It was so dreamy there.

Our sea-view suite was gorgeous and spacious with comfortable seating areas both inside the room and out on our private terrace. The property as a whole is very large with beautiful well-maintained gardens surrounded by lush hills and the blue sea. The management staff was especially attentive and helpful in creating personalized excursions for us. We wanted to do a few half and full day trips to different parts of the island and they made it all happen. The cleaning and restaurant staff were also very friendly and we enjoyed chef prepared four course dinners each evening (each menu provided a number of choices for each course). The daily breakfasts were also great with plenty of options. We were quite busy touring around on most days, but always looked forward to spending time relaxing on our terrace in the afternoons or lounging at one of the two infinity swimming pools. We are already anticipating our next visit as we still have plenty to see on the verdant, mountainous island.
