We just spent a week at Cala Luna. It was our third time staying at the resort in four years. This place just gets better and better. We were there to celebrate my daughter‘s birthday and they decorated her room, made a special cake for her, and accommodated (and went above and beyond!) all our requests and needs. To all the restaurant staff, housekeeping staff, front desk, concierge and management - THANK YOU, for always making Cala Luna our favorite place and for making our daughters’s 16th birthday extra memorable.

Excellent hotel, very clean and the staff are amazing, brilliant location for surfing and all things Tamarindo! Just make sure if you are full board, no drinks are included, the staff get very confused by the packages on offer!

Beautiful lush property with great staff that are friendly and professional. Rooms were well appointed and quiet. Pool was comfortable temperature. Beach is nice but not swim able. Restaurant was good. Breakfast was excellent and included. My family of 13 all would go again.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa with private pool for 5 days in July. The villa was beautiful and spacious and the staff and their service level were excellent. The meals at the restaurant were also very good. Our tour agent had also suggested other restaurants in town (Fish & Cheeses and Panga Beach Club Restaurant)and they were also very good! My friend and I had a chance to go to the Lahari spa at the hotel for massages and a facial and the experience was so good that we had to go again a few days later! Andrea (masseuse and wellness provider) is excellent!! The only negative thing was that we had a long walk or 10 minute drive to Tamarindo beach if we wanted sand and ocean as the beach at the hotel we were told did not allow swimming due to the rocky beach. All in all - we would definitely come back as the hotel, its amenities and location were fantastic! Also their cats were amazing - visiting us at the villa and hanging out with us. We met both Cala and Luna - very friendly, chill and seemed liked the ones the place :)

I went to Cala Luna for four nights with a family of four including two teenagers aged 13 and 15. It was out third hotel in CR and we loved it. Place is great, grounds are well cared for, people are nice, food is really good. Beach is beautiful not great for swimming but you can get right to the main beach for that it is not far or inconvenient. Surfing lessons were fantastic use the Cala Luna guys they were great taught both my teens. We stayed in a one bedroom with two queens, it was the smallest room of the three hotels but it was fine, I would have reserved a larger room in hindsight. Special thanks to Donovan for being a great host. We did the farm to table meal at La Senda and it was great, really good people up there and the chef is legit you will be happy to remember he is the chef at the hotel as well. Don't miss sunset drinks on the beach. I recommend staying in Rincon de la Vieja to get your adventures in before going to Tamarindo but if you don't, the bus ride is only 90 minutes max. This was the hotel my kids and probably all of us liked the most, enjoy...
