Fabolous service from friendly and welcoming staff. The rooms are clean, elegant and suits my needs. Amerikalinjen offers a small but functional gym with good equipment. Starting the day off with their great breakfast is a super starting point for the day in Oslo.

Unique customer service in the amazing Amerikalinjen hotel centrally located in the heart of Oslo. In a house full of America - all the way back to the Norwegians whom left Norway for a better future in America (my own ancestors among them). The variety of themes, food, drinks, newspapers, ambiance, and not to forget the rooms, are among the best in the country.

This was my 4th or 5th time here - and it will not be the last. Great location close to Oslo Central station and great location for exploring the rest of the city. I love that it is a bit smaller and the rooms are very nice. Very good breakfast and an open gym 24/7 that was well equipped.

My wife and I loved our 3-day stay at the Amerikalinjen Hotel, an excellent base for exploring Oslo. It couldn't be more centrally located, directly across from Central Station and the main shopping street, Karl Johan's Gate and an easy walk to the waterfront. It also featured a beautiful interior, comfortable rooms, outstanding breakfast (both the eggs benedict to order and the massive buffet, both of which I tried). Our timing did not work out to experience the Jazz Bar, but the Pier 42 cocktail lounge was fun and reputedly among the best in town -- outstanding cocktails and friendly, knowledgeable bartenders. Highly recommend this place!

Rooms are very snug but nice. And the high ceilings and large windows made the room feel much larger. We were fortunate to have a fantastic view over the city as well. We were unfortunate to stay on an upper floor during a heat wave, but the hotel was very accommodating with fans. There is no air conditioning. The breakfast buffet was very nice and included one made-to-order dish. However, we thought the buffet was plenty and did not order from the menu.
