Stayed here for 3 nights in a Premier Corner Double room (625). Walking in was a delight. The room has a small hallway that opens out to a tiled walkway down to the main area which was carpeted. For Japan (and most other countries) this is a big room! Approx 45 sq m with a separate couch, table and chair. It has full electronic control of the rooms functions from a supplied Ipad which we found quite easy to use. The bathroom is a three way bathroom which allows each section to be used separately if required. There are little touches here that make a difference like soft closing sliding doors and the toilet!. I want one of these. It senses your arrival and the lid lifts automatically ready with a warm seat!. And for the men there is a button to press and the main seat lifts up as well. There was also something I have not seen before and that is a an inbuilt blow dryer ! I wonder if I can buy one of these in Australia. On a more serious note the service by the team in the restaurant's are very attentive without being overbearing. We had one dinner at the inhouse Italian restaurant which would considered reasonable pricing for a high end establishment. Would I stay here again - absolutely. Location, attention to detail and quality service.

Beautiful modern hotel near Kyoto Station. Beautiful spacious rooms, the size of a small apartment. Everything you could possible need. Very helpful and courteous staff. So close to the station with access to food and transport. Loved our time here on our honeymoon.

I stayed at The Thousand Kyoto from March 5th to March 7th, 2025, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. Location is very convenient, making it easy to explore Kyoto .Very near to Kyoto Station ( around 5 mins walk) From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless and well-managed. A special thank you to Ms. Pavanti and a Japanese staff member (whose name I unfortunately forgot) for their warm and sincere service. He assisted me with my luggage during both check-in and check-out, making me feel truly welcomed. However, my departure experience was disappointing. I had pre-booked a car to the airport, yet I had to approach the concierge twice to check if it had arrived. Instead of proactively updating me, I was left waiting without any communication. To make matters worse, the Caucasian female staff member at the concierge was unapologetic and displayed a cold attitude, which dampened my otherwise great impression of the hotel. It’s a shame that such a small but important aspect of service was lacking, as everything else was exceptional. I hope the hotel improves in this area to ensure a consistently high standard of hospitality.

The Thousand Kyoto is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at, superior to expensive 5*star hotels like the Four Seasons Madrid, Langham London & Park Hyatt Vienna. To start with, as soon as I walked into reception, I was impressed by how beautiful and spacious the hotel is. It is an exquisite and calming environment. The service I received at reception from Ms Park (more about her later!) was so welcoming and reassuring and check in was efficient. I loved my King room; very spacious and beautifully decorated, the bedding made for heavenly sleep. It made such a change from my cramp quarters in Tokyo. The bathroom was spacious with both a tub and shower, and a roomy separate area with a basin. I had breakfast every day of my stay and found it really delightful, the avocado toast with the layer of marmalade and the little pork sausages with potato salad. Everything was absolutely delicious. I dined at the Tea bar on my first day and the Italian restaurant on my second evening, food was good, service was impeccable. Back to Ms Park.. I cannot fault the service I received at The Thousand, everyone was so kind and helpful but I want to give a special mention to Ms Park. When I arrived on the first day, I got a bit lost, and although the hotel is right next to Kyoto station, I took a wrong turning and ended up walking for 15 minutes, going up and down stairs and crossing bridges in the snow. Ms Park went to the trouble of showing me (not just explaining it) the short cut to the station and helped me with clear directions to a meeting point I had to go to the next morning. She was utterly charming! Thank you so much Ms Park for going the extra mile, and thank you so much to all of the staff I met. The extra touches from individual staff members meant a lot; thanks to the staff member who sent me mineral water and an origami swan via robot this morning so I could see the robot again - that was such a nice thing to do! When I come back to Kyoto, I will definitely be staying at The Thousand!

I had a wonderful time at The Thousand Kyoto Hotel. Overall, the staff were kind and welcoming. Among them, I was especially touched by the service of Ms. Park. Every time my friend and I went out or returned to the hotel, she greeted us warmly and engaged us in conversation. Knowing that we were interested in Buddhist culture, she even shared insights about Korean Buddhism with us. On our last day, when we said our goodbyes, she noticed that my legs were feeling sore from all the walking during our trip. She kindly advised me to see a doctor once I returned to Singapore. While I was satisfied with the hotel’s location, cleanliness, and overall service, I am truly grateful for Ms. Park’s exceptional hospitality.
