Lovely hotel. Excellent location. Rooms comfortable and large. Two negatives. Was woken at 7 am by housekeeping, one knock on the door and she came in despite double bolted door. We were asked to put down a holding deposit of $200. Upon checkout confirmation that nothing was charged to room. However we have had a charge of £60 taken from our credit card. Numerous emails to the hotel. Not been reimbursed or acknowledgement to emails.

Just had my father in law's 40 guest, 90th birthday party at the Huntley Hotel and it was fabulous! Mandy, the catering manager was amazing from day one of our first meeting! She answered emails quickly and wouldn't hesitate to pick up the phone and chat if she felt that would answer a question more thoroughly. Her attention to detail was superb and she was so incredibly patient when it came to the barage of emails we sent her! The day of the party could not have gone more smoothly. The entire staff was so attentive. They were proactive with everything we needed - never having to ask. Our guests were wowed by the venue as well! The beautiful banquet room that led out to a gorgeous terrace! All in all and wonderful experience from start to end! Highly recommend!!

I've stayed at the Huntley multiple times but this last visit will be my last. There were multiple pieces of broken plastic on the floor in my room, which in addition to being painful to step on, indicated that the room had not been cleaned, or at least not vacuumed. The AC in my room was also not working well - room temp was 75/76 and would not cool down despite continuing to turn down the thermostat all the way to 64. I called the front desk who said they would send maintenance up but no one ever came. I gave this feedback to the front desk as I checked out and was impressed that they stopped the checkout process and offered to have a manager call me. However, no one ever reached out to me and they just waited a day or so and then charged me. I understand that incidents happen and that an older hotel like this will have issues, but not sending maintenance and not following up on a customer service issue are entirely within the staff's control and show that taking care of their returning guests is just not a priority for them. I'm very disappointed to be writing this review and sad to have to find a new place to stay when I visit Santa Monica.
