Service is terrible for a hotel at this price level (~$1200/night). Actually, it would be considered bad even for a cheap hotel. For example, I called the phone number listed on their website before arriving 3 times trying to book dinner/park reservations. Once I hang up after on hold for more than an hour, and twice I got disconnected from the phone after waiting for 3+ hours each time. If you speak Spanish, I heard it's easier to get someone to answer the phone. Additionally, even in the hotel, you don't always get someone to answer the call when you call from your room. Hotel itself was beautifully decorated and their Parks and Tours are pretty good. However, there are too many negatives for me to consider going back, we declined the timeshare sales call and return trip offer for $700/night (2 adults + 2 kids) for 5 nights.

My wife and I went to Xcaret hotel for our 30th anniversary. WE were a bit hesitant as this was September 2021 during the c0v!d craziness. Out side of the annoyance of wearing masks when in public common areas close to other people, this was truly a magical experience. Everything was delightful and enjoyable. We are both in our 60's and usually quite adventurous if not always physically up to a 5 mile hike. We zip-lined, swam and kayaked in the cenotes, did the SNUBA, did the ZIP-bike at Xel-Ha, snorkeled, and just sometimes sat in the many pools or by the 'Lazy River' at the hotel. Everything was better than expected. We were treated like royalty. Planning a return trip in 2026.
