I Prefer Auctions Terms & Conditions

- To participate in any auction, you must be an active I Prefer Member at the time of bidding and experience redemption.
- Your account must be in good standing with a valid Member Number, password, email address, and street address on file.
- You must log in at iprefer.com to access the I Prefer Auction site.
- Members may only redeem a total of up to five (5) experiences per calendar year, including up to two (2) packages of the same item when available.
- I Prefer Hotel Rewards reserves the right to disqualify from the I Prefer Auction site and the I Prefer Hotel Rewards Program any Member who tampers with or abuses any aspect of the I Prefer Auctions program, or who fails to comply with any of these terms and conditions.
- I Prefer Auction experiences are limited and available only during the stated bidding window, or on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
- Experiences may have their own separate terms and conditions, which will be detailed on the experience page. These may include, but are not limited to: expiration dates, blackout dates, and other exclusions. By participating in an auction, you agree and accept those terms and conditions for that experience.
- I Prefer Hotel Rewards reserves the right to make amendments to an auction at any time without notice, such as: correcting any typographical errors; making changes, corrections, or improvements to an experience description, including applicable terms and conditions; adjusting experience quantities; and revising, suspending, or terminating an auction.
- All experiences available through an auction are offered as is without warranties of any kind, unless expressly stated in the experience description.
Bidding & Winning
- You may bid on an experience only if you have a sufficient amount of I Prefer Points in your I Prefer Member account at the time of bidding.
- Minimum bids will apply to all items. If a bid has a minimum point increment, it will be stated on the experience page and any bid entered in an amount below the minimum point increment will not be accepted.
- If an experience is listed with a “Redeem” option, you may redeem the stated number of points to win the experience instantly.
- Upon placing a bid, the number of points bid will be immediately placed on hold from your available points balance to protect them from other reward redemption usage as long as the auction is open and you currently have the highest bid. If you are outbid, the points will be returned to your available balance.
- All confirmed bids are final and cannot be changed.
- The auction for each experience will end at the specified time listed on the experience page.
- The winner of each auction will be determined by I Prefer Hotel Rewards or its designee in their sole discretion based on the highest qualified bid received prior to the final closing time of the auction.
- If an auction closes with the highest bid having been placed by two separate Members for an equal number of Points, the bid submitted earlier will be the winning bid. The timing of bid submission will be determined solely by I Prefer Hotel Rewards.
- The winning bidder will receive notification via email, and the I Prefer Points will be automatically deducted from their Member Account upon auction close.
- Auctions for the same experience with multiple quantities will begin with the same starting bid, but the winning bid for each auction is not controlled by I Prefer Hotel Rewards. Therefore, if one such auction closes with a higher winning bid than another auction, a point difference refund will not be granted.
Redemption & Fulfillment
- Point and experience redemptions are final. No refunds or substitutions are allowed.
- The fulfillment process for each experience will vary and will be detailed under Terms & Conditions on the experience page.
- Experiences that include hotel stays are not eligible for I Prefer Points earning or credit toward tier qualification. Complimentary room upgrades, as part of standard Member stay benefits, may not apply and will be at the discretion of the property based on the experience offering.
- Merchandise rewarded through an auction will only be shipped to a valid street address. P.O. Box delivery will not be permitted. Merchandise may not be returned or exchanged unless shown to be damaged or defective, in which case the item must be returned within 30 days of delivery.
- If an experience becomes unavailable for any reason, I Prefer Hotel Rewards reserves the right, at its discretion, to offer a similar experience or partially or fully refund the points redeemed for the experience.
- I Prefer Hotel Rewards is not responsible for lost, stolen, or expired experiences won in an auction.
- I Prefer Auctions experiences may not be resold, re-marketed, transferred, or otherwise disposed of without obtaining prior written consent from I Prefer Hotel Rewards.
- Any attempted or completed barter, sale, or transfer of an I Prefer Auctions experience or any component thereof, including but not limited to hotel accommodations, meals, or services, will be void and the experience will be forfeited without any refund of I Prefer Points to the Member. Additionally, I Prefer Hotel Rewards, in its sole discretion, may suspend or terminate the Member’s I Prefer Account as set forth in the I Prefer Program Terms & Conditions.
- If you choose to participate in an I Prefer Auction, you agree to receive transactional notifications about I Prefer Auctions via email, phone, or both. These emails from I Prefer Hotel Rewards will relate to bid placement, bid position, and win confirmation. You additionally agree to send information and also allow I Prefer Hotel Rewards to send information on your behalf to suppliers or service providers as required for experience fulfillment. As an auction winner redeeming an experience, you consent to be contacted by I Prefer Hotel Rewards via email, phone, or both regarding opportunities to discuss and record your participation in the auction and the experience you won.
- I Prefer Hotel Rewards and its affiliates are not responsible for lost, interrupted, or unavailable network server or other connections, miscommunications, computer or technical failure, incorrect or inaccurate bidding information howsoever caused, or other error of any kind whether human, mechanical or electronic.
- By redeeming an experience offered by an I Prefer Hotel or third-party partner, you acknowledge that you are entering an agreement directly with the hotel or partner, who is acting as an independent contractor and not as an agent of I Prefer Hotel Rewards. I Prefer Hotel Rewards shall not be held responsible for nor liable to a Member based on any terms and conditions imposed by a hotel or partner on any experience.
- You agree to release and hold I Prefer Hotel Rewards and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, agents, and employees harmless from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participating in I Prefer Auctions, your use or receipt of any item, or your participation in an experience, including, but not limited to personal injury, property damage or other loss or costs sustained or incurred by the winning bidder or errors in the administration of any auction.
- You agree to indemnify and hold I Prefer Hotel Rewards and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, agents, and employees harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorney’s fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your breach of these terms and conditions or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party. I Prefer Hotel Rewards’ failure to act with respect to a breach by you or others does not waive its right to act with respect to subsequent or similar breaches.
- I Prefer Hotel Rewards, Preferred Travel Group, and each of their subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, agents, and employees shall not liable for any direct, punitive, special, incidental, consequential, or indirect damages connected in any manner to the bidding, redemption, and participation in the I Prefer Auction program, regardless of the cause.
- Neither I Prefer Hotel Rewards nor anyone else involved in creating, producing, or delivering the I Prefer Auction program, website, or any item, experience, or service related thereto, shall be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary or consequential damages arising out of any use of the I Prefer Auction site, or any auction item or experience, or the inability to use the site, participate in I Prefer Auctions, or claim any auction item or experience.
- If the performance of any service or obligation of I Prefer Hotel Rewards or any service provider making an experience available through the I Prefer Auctions site, including any live experience, is prevented, delayed, restricted, or interfered with by events or causes beyond their control, I Prefer Hotel Rewards or the applicable service provider will not be held liable for the performance or obligation affected by the prevention, delay, restriction or interference. You agree that if any of these prevent your participation in a live experience, I Prefer Hotel Rewards or the applicable service provider is not obligated to provide or recreate such live experience and I Prefer Hotel Rewards reserves the right, at its discretion, to offer a similar experience or partially or fully refund the points redeemed for the experience.
- Any disputes arising out of or related to the I Prefer Auctions site or any auction shall be handled individually and shall be governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the U.S.
