This Privacy Policy (“Policy” or “Privacy Policy”) describes how Preferred Travel Group (“PTG,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collect, use, share, and protect the personal information of our customers, hotel guests, loyalty program members (collectively, “Customers”), job applicants, and business-to-business (“B2B”) whether collected when you use our online websites, electronic forms or mobile applications and offline which we own and operate as the data controller (collectively, the “Site(s)” or “Services”), and describes your rights, however access and/or used, whether via personal computers, mobile devices, tablets or other means.
This Privacy Policy does not govern information we process in our role as a data processor and service provider on behalf of our Member Hotels or that is otherwise collected by our Member Hotels. We partner with hotels to provide you with products and services (“Member Hotels”). Our Member Hotels are independently owned and operated and PTG does not manage or control them or their data practices. For details about our processing of data from Member Hotels (“Member Hotels Data”), please see the “From Our Member Hotels” section below.
Additionally, please note that Section I of this Policy below, which describes our collection and use of information practices through our Services, also serves as our Notice at Collection for California residents for purposes of the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”).
By using our Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will become effective upon posting of the revised Policy on the Internet, accessible through our Sites and App.

Data we receive from Member Hotels may include all categories of Personal Information listed above in the chart. Our processing of Member Hotels Data is governed by the terms of our service agreements with our Member Hotels, and not this Privacy Policy.
In the event we are permitted to process Member Hotels Data for our own purposes, we will process the Member Hotels Data in accordance with the practices described in this Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for how Member Hotels treat the information we collect on their behalf, and we recommend you review their own privacy policies.
- From Other Entities. We may receive Personal Information about you from other sources. For example, this may include receiving Personal Information from:
- Travel agents and alliance partner websites that allow you to link your I Prefer loyalty rewards with alliance partner loyalty rewards programs.
- Social media sites, including Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. The information we receive from these social media sites is dependent upon the social media site’s policies and your settings on that site, which you can control. For more information about how you can customize your privacy settings and how such social media sites treat Personal Information, please refer to their privacy policies and terms of use.
- Other websites, including those of non-Member hotels, marketing affiliate sites, online advertising networks, and analytics vendors.
- Companies that provide Personal Information to supplement what we already know about you, including data aggregators and trade publications. Certain parties might link your name or email address to other information they have collected. That might include past purchases or reservations made offline or online. It might also include Device, Internet and Network Activity Information, Online Identifiers (IP Address, cookie IDs and Device IDs).
- From Government Sources. We may collect Personal Information from government sources to help us with engaging in fraud monitoring and prevention, compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- From Other Users. We may collect Personal Information from other users, such as:
- A spouse who contacts us on your behalf or from your friends who provide us with your information in order to invite you to events you may be interested in
- From Publicly Available Sources. For example, we collect:
- Information in the public domain
- Data available in open government databases to help us with fraud monitoring and prevention, compliance with applicable law and regulations, reviewing and processing your employment application and other information
- As otherwise permitted by law
- By Combining Personal Information. For example, we may:

III. Our Legal Basis for Processing Information
- If you are accessing the Services in the European Economic Area (“EEA”), then applicable law requires us to ensure that we only process your Personal Information when we have a valid legal basis to do so. We will only process your Personal Information:
- If it is in our legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of others (such as our Member Hotels) to use your personal information. For example, it is in our legitimate interests to use your Personal Information to maintain and improve the Services. If you would like further information about how we decide when a particular use is in our legitimate interests, you may contact us using the contact details at the end of this policy.
- If we need to use your personal information to perform our obligations under a contract we have with you (including, for example, processing your reservations, fulfilling your travel-related orders, and administering our I Prefer loyalty program).
- If we have your consent. Sometimes we may ask for your consent to use certain types of Personal Information (e.g., by asking you to tick an online box). In these circumstances, your consent will be our legal basis for processing your Personal Information. If you have provided consent, you may withdraw it at any time. You may do this by “opting out” where we give you the opportunity to do so, or by contacting us using the contact details at the end of this policy.
IV. Disclosures of Personal Information to Other Entities
During at least the past 12 months, we have disclosed the Personal Information outlined in the table above with the following categories of entities:
- Internally: We disclose all categories of Personal Information listed above with other PTG businesses who jointly use Personal Information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, where this is acceptable under applicable law.
- Member Hotels: We disclose all categories of Personal Information listed above in Section IA with Member Hotels, including your contact information and I Prefer loyalty rewards program account status, information, and number as necessary to fulfil your reservation, provide the I Prefer loyalty rewards program, to respond to your questions, comply with your requests, and otherwise comply with the law. We also disclose Device, Internet and Network Activity Information, Online Identifiers to Member Hotels for their advertising and marketing purposes. Member Hotels are independent entities, and their processing of information is subject to our agreements with them and their own privacy policies. - A Business That Acquires Us or Our Assets, in a Business Transfer: If another party acquires all or substantially all of our assets, all categories of Personal Information listed above, and any other information that we have collected in connection with the Services, will be transferred to that party as part of our business assets. Also, if any bankruptcy or reorganization proceeding is brought by or against us, all such information will be considered part of our assets that can be sold or transferred to third parties.
- Government Authorities, Legal Rights and Actions. We will disclose all categories of Personal Information listed above with various government agencies if required or requested to do so by law, or if we believe such action is necessary or advisable in order to: (1) conform to the requirements of the law or comply with valid legal process served upon us; (2) protect or defend our legal rights or property, the Services, or our customers or users; (3) investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, or violations of our Terms of Use; and/or (4) any other reason in our sole discretion. We may also use IP address or other Device, Internet and Network Activity Information, Online Identifiers to identify users, and may do so in cooperation with copyright owners, Internet Service Providers, wireless service providers or law enforcement agencies in our discretion. Such disclosures may be carried out without notice to you.
- Third Parties. With your consent (or where you do not decline where permitted by law), we disclose General Location Information, Device, Internet and Network Activity Information, and Online Identifiers to third parties, such as our advertising and marketing partners, media partners and platforms, data analytics providers, social networks, and Member Hotels. PTG may work with advertising partners to serve you interest-based advertisements. If you do consent (or do not decline where permitted by law) to have your Personal Information shared, your Personal Information will be disclosed for targeted advertising to such third parties.
- Service Providers and Contractors: We disclose all categories of Personal Information listed above with Service Providers and Contractors to perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing, email marketing, website analytics, marketing and promotions, advertising technology services, cloud data storage, technology support, and customer service. These Service Providers and Contractors will access all categories of Personal Information as necessary for them to perform their duties. For example, we will share bank details and payment card information with payment processors when you provide a payment card in connection with a purchase. When we share Personal Information with Service Providers and Contractors our contracts prohibit them from using or sharing your Personal Information for any reason except to assist us in operating our business and providing Services to you.
- Facilitating Requests: We disclose all of the categories of Personal Information listed above at your request or direction.
- Consent: We disclose all of the categories of Personal Information listed above if we have let you know what information will be shared, with whom, and obtained your consent.
V. Our Use of Artifical Intelligence
We may use your Personal Information in connection with artificial intelligence on our site or other sites for the following purposes:
- To enhance your experience, including to display personalized content and ads based on your interests;
- To provide you with special offers and summaries of property reviews and articles;
- To display your language and dialexts within our virtual agents' experience;
- To enhance site security; and
- For automated decisions about delivery of advertising, offers, and other information.
VI. Your Rights and Choices in the EEA under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the United Kingdom (UK) and Switzerland
If you are in the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, and certain other countries with similar data protection laws, you have additional rights in relation to your Personal Information. You have the right to request that we:
- provide access to any Personal Information we hold about you;
- update any of your Personal Information which is out of date or incorrect;
- delete any Personal Information which we are holding about you;
- restrict the way that we process your Personal Information;
- prevent the processing of your Personal Information for direct marketing purposes;
- provide your Personal Information to a third-party provider of services;
- provide you with a copy of any Personal Information which we hold about you; or
- consider any valid objections which you have to our use of your Personal Information.
- stop using fully automated decision making, including for profiling, with significant legal effect, and request a manual decision-making process instead; or
- contest a decision based solely on automated processing.

We will consider all such requests and provide our response within a reasonable period (and in any event within any time period required by applicable law). Please note, however, that certain Personal Information may be exempt from such requests. If an exception applies, we will tell you this when responding to your request. We may request you provide us with the information necessary to confirm your identity before responding to any request you make.
- Email Communications: You may ask us to stop using your Personal Information for direct marketing purposes at any time. If located in the EEA and you have any complaints about how we use your Personal Information, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country or seek a remedy through local courts if you believe your rights have been breached. VII. Your Rights and Choices in the United States

When submitting the request, please ensure the authorized agent identifies himself/herself/themselves as an authorized agent. We will require written proof of the agent’s permission to do so and we will need to verify your identity directly. Once verified, your authorized agent may act on your behalf.

In order to respond to your request, we may validate your email address if you have an account with us. If you use an authorized agent to exercise rights for you, we will confirm that the agent is authorized by you.
When you make a request to access, correct, or delete your information, we will generally confirm receipt of your request within 10 days, and respond within 45 days, though in some cases we have the right to take additional time if needed. We will provide notice of the extension within the first 45-day period.
We acknowledge that you may have rights under U.S. State Privacy Laws in connection with the Personal Information we process on behalf of our Member Hotels. If Personal Information about you has been processed by us as a service provider on behalf of a Member Hotel and you wish to exercise any rights you have with such Personal Information, please inquire with our Member Hotel directly. We will support them to the extent required by applicable law in responding to your request.
- How We Verify Your Identity. We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity prior to responding to your requests. For example, we may utilize third party verification steps which may vary depending on the sensitivity of the Personal Information and whether you have an account with us.
- Financial Incentivces. Our I Prefer loyalty program requires you to provide Personal Information to join the program so we can associate the program benefits with your account. We calculate the value of this program as the difference between the I Prefer Member Rate (the rate for members of the I Prefer Program) and the Non-Member Rate (rate for individuals who are not members of the I Prefer Program) for each Hotel stay. When you participate in the I Prefer loyalty program, you agree to the terms and conditions of the program. Participation in the program is optional. You may opt-out, or withdraw from the program at any time by contacting member services or by calling 1 (866) 990-9491. You can find more information on the I Prefer Program and its terms here.
- Users Under 18. Note that PTG is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly sell Personal Information from anyone under the age of 18. Please see our section titled “Minor Children” for more information.
VIII. Cookie Notice
- Cookies & Other Similar Technologies
Our Services collect Device, Internet and Network Activity Information, Online Identifiers about you through the use cookies and other tracking technologies placed by PTG and third parties (collectively, “Cookies”).
A “cookie” is a tiny file that is stored on your device (e.g., your computer or mobile device). It contains a unique identifier, as well as the address and other information about the site you are visiting. Some cookies are essential in order to enable you to move around our Services, and visit our Site and use its features. Other cookies collect information about how visitors use the Site (for instance, which pages visitors go to most often, and if they get error messages from web pages).
We and third parties may also utilize other tracking technologies like pixels, flash objects, APIs, and mobile software development kits (SDKs) and tags. These are small strings of code that are placed on our Site, in the emails we send to you, or in our digital advertisements. When you access a page or platform containing one of these technologies, you establish a communication with a web server, which collects certain information about your computer or device.
These Cookies allow us and third parties partners to (i) collect Personal Information about you over time and across different websites, apps, and devices when you use our Services, (ii) facilitate Site administration and navigation, (iii) better understand and improve our Sites and Services, (iv) determine and improve the advertising shown to you here or elsewhere, and (v) provide you with a rich user experience. For example, where permitted by law, we use third-party vendors, such as VWO, to record your interactions with and usage of our website, including the features you engage with, how you navigate, and your click/touch, movement, scroll, and keystroke activity, to support and improve the functionality and performance of our websites. We also use Cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick advertising cookie) to inform, optimize, and display ads based on your past visits to the Sites, where permitted by law. Our first party tracking technologies do not track our visitors off our Site. Both first party and third party tracking technologies are not used on every page of our Site, nor for every user visit.
- Opting-Out of Cookies.
- Cookie Preference Center. You can opt-out of our use of Cookies for analytics and targeted advertising by visiting our Cookie Preference Center.
- Google Opt-Out. Google requires you to opt out directly with them. You may control your advertising preferences or opt out of certain Google advertising products by visiting the Google Ads Preferences Manager, currently available at https://google.com/ads/preferences. - Global Privacy Control. If you are using a browser that supports the Global Privacy Control (“GPC”), https://globalprivacycontrol.org/, and have enabled the GPC, when you visit our Site, we will interpret that as a request to opt-out of Cookies.

- Promotional Communications
- Emails. You can opt-out of receiving promotional emails from us at any time by following the instructions to click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our emails, contacting us using the contact information provided at the end of the Privacy Policy below, or clicking here. Please note that you cannot opt-out of non-promotional emails, such as those about your account, transactions, servicing, or our ongoing business relations. Please note that your opt-out is limited to the email address used and will not affect subsequent subscriptions.
- Text messages and phone calls. For text message communications and calls to your phone number, you may opt-out at any time by (i) for text messaging, texting “STOP” to the appropriate short code available from our confirmation text message; and (ii) for calls, requesting opt-out during any call you receive from us or contacting us as set out in the “Contact Us” section below and specifying you want to opt-out of calls.
- Push Notifications. For push notifications or in-app messages, you may adjust the permissions in your mobile device or uninstall our App.
IX. Security of Your Personal Information
We take reasonable steps, including technical and organizational measures, to protect the security and integrity of all Personal Information we receive and process, including using encrypted transmission for sensitive information such as credit card information. However, please note we cannot guarantee that any information transmitted through the Internet or stored on our system or otherwise in our care will be completely safe from prohibited intrusion by others, or from access alteration or loss, as no data transmission or storage is perfectly secure. We want you to feel confident that we use reasonable security, but we cannot warrant the security of any information you provide or transmit to us.
