Exuding European-style elegance, the prestigious, 314-guestroom The Windsor Court is a welcome surprise in the Big Easy. A blend of English country-house chic and French refinement with a dash of Southern American charm, the hotel is a haven of calm — moments from the frenetic French Quarter. The gastronomically amazing Grill Room, a Forbes Four-Star and AAA Four Diamond winner is a particular highlight, as is the view from the rooftop. This incredible hotel captivates from start to finish.

  • Sip an Old Fashioned cocktail in the Polo Club
  • Dine at the four-star Grill Room that serves delicious contemporary New Orleans dishes
  • Book the capacious 22nd-floor James J. Coleman Jr. Presidential Suite, home to a baby grand piano and library
  • Spend an evening on the famous Bourbon Street in the French Quarter
  • Take a dip in the rooftop’s heated, saltwater pool and admire the stunning New Orleans skyline

Adorning the walls of the hotel are 17th- to 20th-century paintings of British rural hunting scenes, Windsor Castle, and high-society portraits — all of which add to the sense that you have just stepped into an old English country club, far away from traditional Louisiana. Learn more about the collection on the hotel’s smartphone art tour.

Dining

One of the defining features of The Windsor Court is the inimitable fine dining experience. Leading the way is The Grill Room, a Forbes Four Star and the AAA Four Diamond winner, followed closely by the Polo Club, where you can take in some New Orleans jazz, and Le Salon, where you will be served English afternoon tea.

The Windsor Court Polo Lounge

The Grill Room – Serving contemporary New Orleans and southern cuisine, The Grill Room is one of the finest restaurants in the city. White-gloved waiters will lead you to your table in sophisticated surroundings, with the tinkling of a grand piano in the background. Simple, high-quality dishes await, including seared scallops with pea and pesto risotto, and Japanese Wagyu Selection.

The Polo Club – After dinner, relocate to the Polo Club for live New Orleans jazz in an English clubhouse setting. Unwind in a buttery leather chair with a classic classic Sazerac made with Woodinville Rye, Herbsaint Legendre, Peychaud’s Barrel-Aged Bitters.

Le Salon – The elegant tea room serves quintessential afternoon tea with sandwiches and mini cakes, often accompanied by music from Rachel Van Voorhees, the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra’s principal harpist. Choose from one of 26 loose-leaf teas — a rose petal and green tea blend, or perhaps a peach puree cured for six weeks with South African rooibos, and many more.

Last Sunday Coffee Bar – Grab a light, on-the-go snack from the ground-floor café, such as a fresh Danish or chicken salad pita, as well as a delicious cup of Lavazza coffee.

Activities at The Windsor Court

The Windsor Court Rooftop Pool

Get ready to meet the day head-on after a workout at the fitness center that overlooks the rooftop pool. Later, the poolside bar is the perfect spot for a light salad or a late afternoon glass of wine. Alternatively, you could retreat into the urban sanctuary of the spa, for a Starry Eyes facial or a Swedish aromatherapy massage.

Right in the city center, you’re well-located to head out and explore the Big Easy. Join a walking tour through the French Quarter to learn about this historic, culturally rich city, or visit the National World War II Museum, an uber-popular stop for visitors. Take a wander down the French Quarter’s Royal Street, the best place to go antiquing in the city. A trip to New Orleans wouldn’t be complete without an evening of jazz. Head to Frenchmen Street for some of the most authentic local jazz bars, including the Spotted Cat or Snug Harbor.

Location

The Windsor Court is far enough from the commotion of New Orleans’ French Quarter to lend it an air of exclusivity and tranquility, yet still just a short two-block stroll from all the action. The Mississippi River winds its way right by the hotel, and the Arts District is only a few blocks away. If you are here on business, being right in the heart of the CBD makes commuting to meetings and conferences much easier.
