Featuring several accommodation types throughout the Ranch, The Retreat offers suite-style rooms in the Ranch House alongside varying options in private log cabins. Each accommodation offers views of Eastern Oregon’s Blue Mountains, plenty of Western–style, and an array of amenities such as baths with rain showers and private hot tubs. Guest cabins come equipped with one- and two-bedroom options and comfortable living rooms featuring fireplaces for cozy moments and fireside chats.
Experience classic ranch-style cuisine at The Ranch’s beloved The Dining Room restaurant where guests can dine on delicious beef and chevon raised on-site alongside a wide variety of produce and mingle with other guests while eating side by side at the traditional long, group-style ranch table – a tradition that sets the mood and encourages community and conviviality. Other options include light fare from Egan’s Hideout and Western cuisine from the Chuck Wagon.
Set in the remote reaches of Eastern Oregon amid the towering pine-covered slopes of the state’s Blue Mountains, The Retreat at Silvies Valley Ranch is an ideal seating for outdoor activity and adventure. On-site, guests can enjoy a variety of golf courses, take part in hiking, horseback riding, or fishing, relax in a soothing spa, or indulge in gastronomy with wine and whiskey tastings and cooking classes.
Golfers looking for a traditional round of golf can take on the Hankins Course – played on odd-numbered days – and the Craddock Course – which is played on even-numbered days. Both are 18 holes and over 7,000 yards from the back tees. The Chief Egan Course, which is a 9-hole experience and 875 yards, is perfect for families and is completely powered by solar panels and fed by water from a local spring. Finally, McVeigh’s Gauntlet is a 7-hole challenge featuring goat caddies and a bonus par-2 hole. As a more leisurely golfing exercise, try Claire’s Courses – a complimentary, 18-hole putting course. Several of these courses are also reversible.
For a relaxing and refreshing spa or wellness treatment, the onsite Rocking Heart Spa uses Native American-inspired techniques to bring inner peace and an outer glow to guests. A variety of facials, massages, manicures, and other treatments are available. Also in the spa is a rock wall, an indoor pool, and a fitness center.
Along with golf and spa and wellness treatments, guests can take in the Oregon nature with a list of outdoor activities, such as fishing, shooting sports, axe throwing, horseback riding, goat herding, hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, and kayaking, guided tours around the ranch, photography, and other lawn games. During winter months, ice fishing, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing are available.
Wine and whiskey tastings and cooking classes are also available for more leisurely activities. Since The Retreat at Silvies Valley Ranch is remote, it's suggested that guests stay onsite.
