Service at this hotel was Evelti

Sun Mar 09 2025 11:00:01 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time) by David E

Well located to walking distance to downtown, most museums and restaurants Service at the hotel was exceptional. We had a 12 pound furry friend join us. He was as welcomed as we were for an extra 150 a night. The hotel restaurant has great food arb the time

Wonderful stay

Lovely hotel, great customer service. Close enough to everything. Broadway is close, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. We ate in the restaurant and the food was great as well as the service. Great experience. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

4 Days of Luxury

Mon Mar 03 2025 22:06:44 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time) by Daydream15660422110

The Hermitage Hotel is an exceptional Small Luxury Hotel in the heart of Nashville. For me it was an amazing experience. After 4 days of intensive training in another part of TN it felt great to be treated as a special guest at a place well known for its service. The rooms are very spacious, the bedding was soft and comforting. My favorite was the different type of pillows to try out. The service everywhere was exceptional from the front desk to the bar and dining room. To tell you the truth with all the great things going on like high tea and Sunday Brunch my favorite thing to do was sit in the lobby in front of the fireplace and just let my mind wander thinking about all the people who crossed the threshold of this beautiful building in the past

Accessible room issues, poor value

Mon Feb 24 2025 06:33:08 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time) by Nurah305

Issue 1: The shower in the accessible room is barely functional. I did not need an accessible shower (see issue 2), but I tried to figure out what the experience would be like for someone seated on an assistive device or using a walker (maybe then it would be ok?), and the answer was "much worse." It seems that in an unsuccessful attempt to keep the marble floor from flooding (no lip on the very narrow accessible shower), they installed the shower head far too close to the wall. From standing, the shower stream only hit my right shoulder. I had to hug the wall and make constant adjustments or take down the shower head to wash my hair with one hand. The bathroom still flooded and became very slick. It's clearly a design problem where no one bothered to include someone with a disability in the design process. If you have mobility support needs, do not book this hotel. Issue 2: I didn't book an accessible room, but mentioned in my reservation that my husband has single-sided deafness, and if they had any hearing accessible rooms, we would like one. Other hotels I considered for this special night away have hearing accessible rooms. This hotel changed my reservation type to an accessible room two days before my stay. I checked the website and noticed it said nothing about hearing accessibility. I called and left a message more than 24 hours before my stay saying hey, since the room isn't hearing accessible, we'd just like our original reservation, please. No one returned my call--i called twice without being able to leave a message before leaving a message. I'd also emailed with another question and no one responded. Don't count on being able to reach the reservations team within 72 hours before your stay. The Hermitage equating deafness with mobility support needs and changing our room type as a gesture of some sort---clumsy. At that point I decided not to mention anything;next time I'd either book a hotel with a hearing accessible room or not mention deafness good god at all given the lack of understanding-- because, hey, while I would miss out on soaking in a tub and watching tv (which I did miss!), it was still a nice room and I'd just take a shower... Hotel cons: No in room coffee. If my husband hadn't have mentioned wanting to stay here, I would have walked on this point alone. Every other competitor hotel in Nashville and probably all of the hotels that otherwise couldn't compete with The Hermitage offer in room coffee; some offer it as a lovely premium amenity. There is coffee in the lobby, and, I was told at check in, pastries. The coffee in the lobby is mediocre, and there were no pastries---I went down twice to get some decaf and walked past the station several times that morning. The coffee station was well maintained with several milk options and staff did seem to check on it regularly. We had a breakfast package, and the $50 breakfast credit buys only a meager breakfast, a shame for a Southern institution. Other hotels I looked at at least explicitly state that their breakfast package is a $50 credit, not actually breakfast. The Hermitage does not make this clear. For those of us fortunate enough to have been fed by European hotels with enough delicious breakfast to stand you up for a day of walking or sight-seeing, this breakfast was a reminder to just save money and go to Europe. Our room refreshment station contained only drinks, no snacks as detailed on the website. At this price point, a free stocked refreshment center would not be out of the industry norm, but don't expect generosity from The Hermitage. Finally, when I received my hotel confirmation, I noticed it was $6 more than what it had been when I confirmed the reservation directly on the website. I emailed and was told that the computer system was glitchy, but that the lower figure I had seen would be honored. At the hotel, I discovered this is not a glitch, but an optional Historic Preservation Charge that is tacked on your bill if you don't catch it in the fine print. Normally I wouldn't mind a small charge for a good cause...unless it is hidden and given by a hotel that is asking for more while not giving much. Hotel pros: Very clean and well maintained facilities. Room quality met expectations. All staff from housekeeping to restaurant to valet to front desk professional and helpful. The front desk staff did listen with kindness and concern about the shower and stated they would have their engineering team look into the design issue. He did what he could within his authority to make right the situation with not fully functional shower.

Excellent stay in Nashville

Fri Feb 21 2025 22:10:15 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time) by James R

Exceptional stay while attending a wedding. Not sure we can stay anywhere else in Nashville again! Big rooms, beautiful lobby, nice restaurant and cafe, first class service all around. Housekeeping and valet are excellent, both with exceptional attention to detail. If we return to Nashville, this is the first hotel we will consider. FYI: FHR breakfast credit is $30 per day per person (x2), and the $100 property credit has to be used at one time (can’t split across multiple events / days), which is mildly annoying - $35 or $40 would be better given breakfast pricing, as would splitting the $100 across multiple events.
