We spent 4 amazing nights at SCP and I have so many thoughts to share. One of the most unique places I have ever been.Overall, if you are looking to really be out there -- right in the Corcovado national park, this is the place to be. Amazing staff. So many people to thank, but Adrian gets 5* - he picked us up in Sierpe, took us on a night walk in the jungle, and delivered us back to Drake bay. 1. Location. Osa peninsula and Corcovado is one of the most biodiverse areas in the world. Come to this hotel to be right there in it. We came from Sierpe, where they pick you up in a boat and you have a beautiful and thrilling boat ride throiugh the mangrove forest, out into Drake Bay alomg the coast, and then a wet landing to the beach (they keep your bags dry!). the jungle surrounds the property, but the main property has plenty of open space. Amazing flora and fauna right off rthe property, on the 3 trails you can walk on your own. The ocean is equally amazing with snorkelling, fishing and whales all close by. 2. Hotel. The hotel is an all-inclusive luxury resort, BUT some people who get scared away from civilization may find it a bit too remote. The property was built starting 50 years ago, with some parts that are newer. This is not a brand new luxury resort. They keep it very clean, but do not expect brand new. There are raised bungaloes in the trees with ocean views and bungaloes up on the main property. Although less expensive, we preferred the bungalows up on the main property, as they were closer to breakfast and the pools. The pools are very nice, especially the spring fed pool in the jungle. A top 10 pool in.my travels. Also, as it is off the electrical grid, all of their electricity is from solar or generator, so there is light, AC and wifi, but 3. Food. Beautifully prepared and very vegetarian friendly. The portion sizes are moderate, which was enough for us but very different than many other parts of Costa Rica. They are trying to avoid food waste. 4. Activities. Multiple options, but good to plan ahead as they dont offer everything ev ery day if the hotel is not fully booked. We wopuld reccomend as much time in the jungle as possible. Definitely do night hikes. Also the snorkelling was good with turtles many fish and a few sharks and since it was July we saw humpback mom and baby 5. Staff. Amazing. Knowledgeable and attentive. They are in this remote environment because they care about it.

We’ve been lucky enough to travel to some truly special places over the years, but our recent stay at Corcovado Wilderness Lodge by SCP stands out. From the moment we arrived, the warmth of the team made it feel like much more than just a trip – it was an experience we’ll remember for a long time. Two highlights stand out. First, a snorkelling boat trip to the nearby island - while the reef has been impacted by bleaching, the return trip put on a great treat of up close viewing of humpback whales, the younger of which enjoyed tail slapping and breaching to our great delight. We also managed to see numerous green turtles – one of those pinch‑yourself moments you know you’ll never forget. Second, a great rainforest walk with our guide Tibi, whose knowledge and passion for the wildlife and ecosystem brought the forest to life. The staff were outstanding. Roger, Marco, Justin, Edward, Carla and Diego all went above and beyond to make every detail perfect, from the little touches in the lodge to organising seamless excursions. Their genuine hospitality and enthusiasm made all the difference. If you’re looking for a combination of adventure, nature and true Costa Rican warmth, Corcovado Wilderness Lodge is the place to go. We left with big smiles and would happily visit for a return trip.

Out of the three places we stayed in Costa Rica, this one was the only one that sadly fell short of our expectations, especially for the prices they are charging. Let me start with the positive: the setting is amazing, right inside the rainforest. Our guide, Steven, was terrific. We very much enjoyed doing tours with him. He was kind, considerate, and knowledgeable. We also appreciated Rodger, Borman, and all the servers at the restaurant, just to name a few. The massages we received were also top notch! In sum, the staff on site is undoubtedly trying to make your stay pleasant and memorable, and they did go the extra mile one afternoon when they drove us to a village where a tapir had been spotted. We did appreciate this extra kindness very much. So, why the rating? One of the main reasons was the booking experience we encountered. I had some questions prior to booking, so I started a conversation with their booking team rather than simply booking through their website. It is my strong recommendation that you ONLY book through their website if you choose to go. I was given “ offers” that were extremely expensive. They included their highest room category, some activities, and full board. When I inquired about cheaper room options, my request was ignored and other things were discussed in the answer to me. I was also told in writing only full board was available. Before the trip, I rechecked the website, and, to my great dismay, found that both cheaper rooms and a breakfast-only option were available. This resulted in an unpleasant, stressful , back-and-forth email conversation that should not have happened in the first place. We finally came to an agreement for a price reduction in exchange for their lowest room category, however, the end price was still very expensive, and I felt that the booking department had been less than truthful about all the options available. Overall, that was the most disturbing part of the experience. It made me feel taken advantage of and generally left a bad taste in my mouth before I ever arrived at the resort. The other was that the general manager, Isaac, was actually on our boat trip over. He knew the back story since he had been part of the pre-arrival email chain. Not only did he not address the issue, but he failed to introduce himself. I just happened to find out later who he was through a random comment made by someone else. To be completely transparent, once we arrived, they did offer us a complimentary upgrade to an ocean room , which was appreciated, but I would have been happier with no upgrade and no pre-arrival hassle and full disclosure about booking options upfront. Obviously, I also would have appreciated a more professional attitude by Isaac. It would have gone a long way for him to just have introduced himself and welcomed us warmly. Overall, in my opinion, the location of the hotel is unique and the on-site staff is terrific , but the price tag is too high for what is offered. The rooms are nice, not spectacular, the food is decent, not outstanding, and the booking experience obviously needs a major overhaul.

Amazing experience. The animals, accommodations, and food were awesome, but it was truly the people who made it great. From the guides to hospitality, everyone really cared about our wants and worked together to make some pretty cool things come to life. I'm amazed at how special they made our family feel. Everyone went above and beyond any possible expectations to make our time there special. The humpback whales were spectacular, and so were the tapir, monkeys, and band of coati. My family's favorite part was checking the game cams. Even getting to the Drake Bay airport was fun. Thank you to everyone. It was truly a once in a lifetime adventure.

Staying at Corcovado Wilderness Lodge was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve ever had. The lodge is located right on the edge of Corcovado National Park, and you can feel the wildness of the rainforest all around you. I woke up to coatis, tapirs, and beautiful birds right outside my room. It’s peaceful, alive, and unlike anything else. What made it even more meaningful was the people in all departments. Roger, Tibisay, Adrian, Justin, Edward, Borman, Luis, Guillermo, and everyone else on the team — thank you. Even those I didn’t get to speak with directly played a role in creating such a thoughtful, warm, and welcoming atmosphere. I felt supported every step of the way. I was also trying to practice my Spanish during the trip, and everyone was so kind and patient, helping me learn with encouragement and good humor. That kind of generosity really stayed with me. The facilities were excellent — comfortable, clean, and beautifully connected to the surroundings. Everything ran smoothly, but it never felt overly structured — just calm, inspiring, and full of life. I’m deeply grateful for my time there. I already miss it, and I know I’ll be back. It’s worth every penny — a place that everyone should experience at least once
