Take a trip to the glamour of 1940s Portugal at The Altis Avenida Hotel on the Praça des Restauradores, in the historic heart of Lisbon. Built by the acclaimed architect Cristino Silva and restored in 2011, it has remained true to its Portuguese modernist roots. Marvel at the wonderful façade and staircase and be immersed in the retro-chic design. Dine on the terrace at the restaurant and unwind in your stylish room overlooking the city and the Saint George castle, some of the best views in Lisbon. You will be minutes away from the waterfront and among the boutique-lined boulevards of 19th-century Lisbon.
With its stunning location, and gracious service, the Altis Avenida is a perfect sanctuary for both business and leisure travelers. Dine on gourmet cuisine in the blue-and-white Azulejo-tiled restaurant, and admire the chic back, white and gold interiors throughout the hotel.
The 118 guestrooms and suites are spread out over six floors, and each has a hint of Art Deco, in keeping with hotel’s past, and different color schemes. Check into a moody Classic Room facing the peaceful internal courtyard. Make a coffee on the Nespresso machine as you check emails at the cozy workstation, or lie back on the beautifully soft double beds with their Egyptian cotton sheets, and soft leather headboards; a blackout blind ensures a restful sleep. Deluxe guestrooms have a balcony with views of downtown Lisbon. In the suites, you can choose between two bathrooms and all the rooms have terrific views of Avenida da Liberdade.
Let the staff take care of you with 24-hour room service, laundry, dry cleaning, and shoe-cleaning services, and daily housekeeping. The hotel extends a warm welcome to families, including the furry, four-legged members.
On the top floor of the hotel, the Rossio Gastrobar has amazing views of Lisbon, and is rapidly becoming one of the city’s favorite restaurants. Dine here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Use the sumptuous facilities at GSpa by Altis Grand Hotel, including indoor heated pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath, fitness room, Technogym equipment, and five treatment rooms. Also try BSpa by Karin Herzog at sister hotel Altis Bélem Hotel, where the Thermo Garden has two pools, a hammam, sauna, and massage treatments.
Step outside the front door to enjoy Lisbon’s cultural treats, such as the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, where great explorer Vasco da Gama is buried. Catch a show at the National Theater in Rossio Square, and have a coffee and a cake in Café Nicola, famous for its Art Deco façade. Stroll around the Baixa district for some serious shopping, and stop in one of the many bars and cafés for some refreshment.
The Altis Avenida Hotel is in the Baixa district of central Lisbon, close to Rossio and Restauradores Squares, and Avenida da Liberdade.

Great central location, wonderful breakfast, top notch roof bar/restaurant with spectacular views, and friendly and accommodating staff who work hard to please. All wrapped up in an Art Deco designed building. What else can one ask for in a hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief two-night stay and wished we could have stayed longer. We'll certainly want to stay there again on any future trips to Lisbon.

A Long Overdue, Well-Deserved Review for Altis Avenida I had the pleasure of staying at Altis Avenida from February 25 to March 5, and although this review is long overdue, it is very much deserved. From the moment we arrived late at night, we were warmly welcomed by José, who was truly exceptional. His kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail set the tone for our entire stay. Throughout the week, every interaction with the Altis Avenida team only reaffirmed that we had chosen the perfect place. While I regret that I lost the list of names I carefully noted during our trip, I would like to acknowledge everyone who made our stay so memorable: the wonderful gentleman who greeted us each evening at the door, Sofia at the front desk who was incredibly helpful and kind, the lovely ladies who made breakfast such a pleasant experience each morning, the gentleman at reception, and the attentive facility manager. Each member of the team went above and beyond. The rooms, though slightly smaller as is typical for a beautifully preserved heritage property, were impeccably designed and equipped with every amenity one could need. Every day, we returned to thoughtful touches like delicious chocolates left in the room, a detail that made us feel genuinely cared for. We were welcomed with a Pastel de Nata — one of the best I’ve ever tasted — and, to our delight, were sent off with a bottle of champagne and an assortment of desserts as a farewell gift from the staff. These gestures exemplified the thoughtfulness and generosity that define Altis Avenida. Special thanks again to José for assisting us with every request on our first day, and to Sofia for providing maps and fantastic recommendations that helped us navigate and experience Lisbon with ease. The gentleman at the door in the evenings even helped me find a quiet, charming café for dinner and recommended one of Lisbon’s best seafood restaurants, Cervejaria Ramiro — a dining experience we will never forget. The hospitality, warmth, and genuine kindness we experienced will stay with us forever. If you are looking for a boutique hotel that offers a personalized, luxurious experience in one of Lisbon’s best locations, Altis Avenida is the perfect choice. Thank you once again to the entire team for a truly unforgettable stay. I hope to return to Altis Avenida one day and relive the wonderful memories you helped create. Warm regards, Usha

Altis Avenida is a FANTASTIC hotel for VERY GOOD prices. Location is amazing, you cannot be better and the Rooftop Bar is unique as it is the BEST location to see Lisbon ! Other 5 Stars hotels neither do not have a rooftop or have one lower or not best located. Service is Top Quality, very smily and nice, always ready to support ! We had a Balcony Deluxe, very nice size and equipment for the price ! Only improvement for us would be to have the WC separated form the Shower. Breakfast is good but at limits, it could be better especially if we make sure to cook and keep hot Pancakes and Wafles. They use classic system as in other Cities in EU but this is old fashioned, we were in Ibiza 3 days before where they bought a Machine to make them hot and fresh in few mn...much better :-) But this is small thing. You want to be in City Center ? 5mn walk from Famous Lift and 7mn from Louis Vuittin and Gucci ? Altis Aveniuda Hotel is the only answer !

😀 Weiter so! 🍀 🍀 😉 🍀 🍀 Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder 😀

Besser, zentraler gelegen geht wohl nicht. Perfekt!
