Set on the idyllic shores of Cheyenne Lake and framed by Colorado’s iconic mountains, this expansive, extravagant resort is a vacation destination in itself. With golf courses, tennis courts, colorful shopping boutiques, a spa, a movie theater, and nearly two dozen dining options – plus palatial, grandly appointed accommodations – The Broadmoor tempts you to stay within the hotel’s grounds your entire trip. With help from the hotel’s outfitters, who ensure you make the most of the property’s unique environment, you are readily prepared for any exciting activity, whether it be fly fishing, hiking, mountain biking, or rock climbing.
The Broadmoor sits at the edge of the city with a dramatic mountainscape behind it. If you wish to retreat further into the Colorado Rockies, the hotel can help. Its three Wilderness Experience camps offer luxurious glamping at quiet and quaint sites either in the forest, on a mountain, or beside a private stretch of river. Surrounded by more than 100,000 acres of Pike National Park, The Ranch at Emerald Valley is an all-inclusive retreat made up of beautifully appointed cabins near scenic woodland trails. Cloud Camp puts you in a lodge 3,000 ft above the hotel, offering breathtaking, unobstructed views of Pikes Peak. Fly Fishing Camp gives you access to private waters, where you can fish for wild brown and brook trout.
This sprawling resort plays host to 784 accommodations, each one featuring opulent, country home-style décor and varying between guestrooms, suites, cottages, brownstones, and an Estate House. In a guest room, sink into an overstuffed armchair surrounded by furniture featuring sumptuous fabrics and either a king-size bed or two double beds. In the individually decorated suites, choose from a range of features, from multiple bedrooms and separate parlors to private patios and soaking tubs.
If you prefer extra space and additional privacy, the cottages have between one and eight bedrooms and feature open fires, sizable outdoor verandas, and stunning views of Cheyenne Mountain and the East Course. For a completely isolated experience, stay at the five-bedroom Estate House, an exquisite 1930s retreat, complete with a dining room, a kitchen, a library, and a study. To go in a much different direction, with a rather adventurous stay, ask about the hotel’s Wilderness Experience camps, where cabins are nestled in beautiful, remote spots.
For a truly residential-style stay, opt for one of The Broadmoor’s brownstones. With spacious living areas, professional-quality kitchens, large private patios, parlors with wet bars, wine cellars, and three-car garages, the comforts feel endless.
This is a full-service hotel with 24-hour room service, nightly turndown, and a concierge team that can organize any activities or transfers. The Broadmoor continues to execute execute execute. The service is great, the rooms are well-appointed and clean, the TV works, and whatever you need is available. This is both a great business stay hotel as well as someplace I wish I could spend a week exploring the grounds of this true grand resort.

This property is the best operated, most service oriented, luxurious, guest friendly in the western US. It is meticulously cared for, offers endless opportunities for dining and leisure activities and is in a beautiful setting. We have stayed here numerous times, usually in the fall and winter. My only, and I emphasize only, complaint is that the HVAC thermostats are woefully outdated and make achieving a consistent, comfortable temperature in the rooms impossible. In winter, you either suffocate with heat, or turn it down or off and freeze. There is no option for temperature selection. I suspect the issue is the expense of updating the entire system, which I’m sure would be significant. In any case, it should be done.

I'm not sure whether delight or awe best describes our recent stay at the Broadmoor but it was an amazing experience. From check-in through departure EVERYTHING was as perfect as it gets. The whole property is immaculate. Beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. Every staff person we encountered seemed as if it were their personal mission to make our experience one to remember. We had Sunday brunch while we were there. Again, GREAT experience. Food preparation and presentation were impeccable; undoubtably the best in Colorado and one of the top in the whole U.S. Having stayed at a number of 5 star/5 diamond properties in the U.S., Broadmoor is at the top. I am looking forward to our next stay.
