We had a week at the Mystery Hotel in Budapest in July 2025. We arrived very late at night, at midnight, after a 3 hour flight delay but the reception staff were still bright and welcoming. We had booked a room overlooking the internal garden space which was spacious with good aircon running. The room was silent at night, even the aircon was like whisper mode. The décor was unique, with unusual artworks on the walls, beautiful chandeliers and a Harley Davidson motorcycle in the lobby area. The whitewashed walls were as spotless as fresh snow, no dust anywhere. The sky bar was a favourite for an evening drink with views across to the Palace etc on the far side of the river which were all lit up after dark, chill music playing, just fantastic. We were only Bed and Breakfast but breakfast was good with a selection of continental or English breakfast foods. The waiting staff are all young but very good and keen to please, many seemed terrified of any even very minor problem. Maybe the restaurant line manager has very strict standards. The Mystery, for us was very well placed location wise as we walk a lot to look at our surroundings and discover little off-the-beaten-track gems, Budapest has plenty if you look hard enough. Great places to eat, drink and watch the world go by. If you need a hotel in Budapest put the Mystery Hotel on your shortlist, it's well worth a good look.

The rooms are very small, that’s only one little window. You get the feeling as you stay in the basement
