New England Charm Lives In New Hampshire
When we think of The Grand at Bedford Village Inn, three words come to mind: New England charm. It isn’t only in fairytales, friends. If you’ve never experienced the region’s magical fall foliage, Autumn is the best time to hop a flight to Manchester and leaf-peep at this New Hampshire hotspot. While The Grand’s big brother and neighbor, Bedford Village Inn, has been collecting accolades-on-accolades for decades (wait until you see the dining rooms), this new 50-room escape is quickly following suit.
Nestled in the rolling green hills of Southern New Hampshire, you’ll be immersed in a kaleidoscope of Instagram-worthy colors surrounding The Grand (#nofilterneeded). The 10-acre estate is yours to explore, so we took full advantage of the heated salt-water pool and hot tub (open year-round), award-winning wines (8,000 bottles to choose from), and Tom Brady-approved fitness center.
After hitting one of the seven unique dining rooms at BVI’s signature restaurant, a farmhouse turned eatery, we snagged a bag of the “Granite State’s” best chocolate for the 5-mile drive to Manchester AKA “Manchhattan”. The Picassos at the art museum are must-sees, as is an open mic reading at the world’s best poetry venue, Slam Free Or Die (don't let the name intimidate you). Nearby Merrimack is home to an Anheuser-Busch brewery that hosts free tours featuring complimentary flights of beers and obligatory Clydesdale selfies (remember those Budweiser commercials?). As the sun went down, we hit The Grand’s lobby bar for live music and garden views before retreating to the comfort of the gas fireplace and custom handcrafted furniture in our suite.
