Relax and enjoy all the modern comforts including mini bars and tea and coffee-making facilities. If you are staying in the villas — which are separated from the main hotel — be sure to make the most of the privacy and the large jacuzzi tubs. Large groups of up to 12 people will love Villa Escalesia, the hotel’s private residence, which has its own infinity pool and sundeck.
As you sit back on your veranda admiring the sea view and the birds, the Adventure Designers Team will take care of your itinerary, booking tours, airport shuttles, and transport as part of the hotel’s impeccable service. In-room dining is available and a cot can be added to your guestroom upon request.
The Royal Palm Hotel Galapagos operates with a strong sense of community and a commitment to sustainability. Every day, the team collect fish from local fisherman and pluck vegetables, fruits, and herbs from the kitchen’s own garden. Each freshly prepared meal is then served in the elegant colonial dining room or outside on the terrace with spectacular sea views.
The Royal Palm Restaurant – Head Chef Patricio Sisa’s menus combine traditional Ecuadorian flavors with popular international dishes at the hotel’s relaxed restaurant. Grab a seat inside or dine alfresco beneath the stars, making the most of the impressive selection of South American wines. During the day, the legendary bartender Kenneth Chalen is happy to whip up a bespoke cocktail, while breakfast is a feast of fresh fruit, pancakes, and eggs.
Take a hike along the estate’s very own nature trails to seek out Darwin Short Beach Finches, owls, and egrets. Enjoy a guided tour of the fascinating underground lava tunnel, which is located right next to the hotel. Get involved in the hotel’s Plant-a-Tree program, and receive a personalized plaque with your choice of wording. Then, relax on the sundeck with a good book, cool off in the swimming pool, and try a detoxifying mud facial using natural volcanic soil at the spa. There are also tennis courts, indoor table tennis, and a small fitness center.
Outside the hotel, an endless list of activities awaits across Santa Cruz and beyond. Go souvenir shopping and eat out at Puerto Ayora, see giant tortoises and land iguanas at the Charles Darwin Research Station, and swim in the crystal-clear waters at Las Grietas.
It is also highly recommended that you:
- Go hiking, biking, or horseback riding across the island
- Snorkel with sea lions and turtles on a boat trip to Lobería Islet
- Work the sugar cane press at the Trapiche Sugar Mill & Coffee Plantation
- Walk through Palo Santo Forest to Tortuga Bay passing prickly pears along the way
- Swim, kayak, and snorkel with Golden Rays, Eagle Rays, and turtles off Mansa Beach
- Immerse yourself in Galapagos’ wildlife with a yacht tour, visiting Bartolomé Island, North Seymour Island and Bachas Beach, among others
