This property is spectacular and we had a beautiful week here. Room selection is tricky, as it appears very true that no two rooms are the same, and the property is so large that location differences can be significant in terms of access to town, to the main inn, and to the beach area. I suppose the most significant difference for us compared to other luxury resorts was the degree to which this property caters to families. I’ve never stayed anywhere with so many infants, toddlers, little kids, big kids, and young adults. That’s not a criticism, just an observation that this place *may not* be the right choice for a guest looking for luxury zen quiet. The bars, lounge, and outdoor restaurant areas can be a bit of a “scene” meaning loud and vibrant (although very fun if you are inclined to participate). And the weddings and private events just give it a bit of a “staying on the edge of someone else’s wedding” vibe. I suppose if I could magically make a suggestion it would be to create a portion of the resort (perhaps the back right portion, since it’s kind of off on its own already) as adults-only, and open up the spa pool to that section of the resort, not just the spa suites people. As spectacular a resort as this is, it’s hard to find anywhere that is peaceful. A strict adults-only section would be very welcomed, at least by us. The staff is expert, the landscape crew deserves awards for both how hard and how well they work, and the property manages to radiate old-world charm and authenticity while also clearly being a new-world upscale resort. We took three private boat outings, and our captains were lovely and generous with their time. Extra special thanks to Charles in that regard. Perhaps the next time we return we’ll arrive with more of a “party” atmosphere in mind — had we arrived with that mindset instead of “luxury bliss and peace and quiet” vibe I think we would have said 10 out of 10. It’s a tough balance, I think, but this property does an excellent job and I can see why it’s so desired. Note to others who may read this: the dining throughout Chatham is uniformly mediocre. We finally discovered that, when we wanted to be off-property for a change of pace, that better meals can be found in Harwich and Dennis and Brewster than any of the downtown Chatham places, all of which are “mailing it in.” Finally, a special thanks to the Guest Relations staff who went overboard to make us just as happy as we could be. We are VERY appreciative and look forward to returning in the future.

For the money definitely not the best experience. Tired rooms, some staff, not all, just rude as soon as they know you’re not American. They save tables /sun beds for regulars. Was so looking forward to staying here and came away disappointed.

Not worth the money. This place has cut back on the little things we were used to . No complimentary bread/rolls. Lobster very scarce in expensive Lobster Nachos. Little basic upkeep things in our room neglected.
