Steps From Savannah's Most Famous Stops
Old Town Trolley Tours: Our favorite of the plethora of tours available in Savannah (food tours, ghosts tours, and walking tours are also very popular), hop on and off the trolley as often as you’d like while your driver details the history and stories behind the Historic District’s top spots. Most tours have about 15 stops, and drivers tend to do an excellent job of blending humor and history.
Forsyth Park: This 30-acre gem sits just three blocks from the hotel. Be sure to swing by the Parisian-style fountain — you may recognize it from 1974’s film, ‘The Longest Yard’ — and check out the Confederate Memorial Statue, a bronze soldier overlooking the park. Paging through a book under the oak trees is time well spent, and if you’re in town for St. Patrick’s Day, you’re in for a real treat by the fountain.
River Street: This riverside, cobblestone street is lined with everything from bars to candy stores and ice cream parlors. The open container-friendly area is popular for parties, but you can also make it romantic with fantastic fudge and fresh pralines as you watch the boats cruise the water. Head to the end of the street to see the waving girl statue — a must during your stay.
