A Reimagined Space In Penn-Dutch Country

A visit to Lancaster County feels like an adult version of a field trip – but better. As its name implies, Cork Factory Hotel is a converted cork factory, and in its heyday it was the world’s largest cork supplier. That is, until bottle caps came around. Although the cork caps are long gone, the towering silo, industrial-style windows, and exposed brick motifs pay homage to the hotel’s history (we have a feeling Chip and Joanna Gaines would love this hotel).

And of course you can’t leave without a visit to Amish Country (AKA Pennsylvania Dutch Country). Rolling green hills, farmland, and the occasional horse and buggy will transport you to another time entirely. Leave plenty of room in your suitcase for souvenirs because the Amish are famous for their homemade marmalades, handcrafted woodwork, and hand-sewn quilts that can sometimes take thousands of hours to make. Oh, and be sure to try the baked goods before you leave - you can’t go wrong with a chocolate whoopie pie.
