Skiing, Ice Skating, Snowshoeing, And Much More
Home of the world’s first ski lift in 1936, Sun Valley knows the joys of snow slopes better than anyone else. With over 2,000 acres of terrain, 3,4000 vertical feet of pure adrenaline, and two picture-perfect mountains, Limelight Hotel Ketchum truly is the prime location for ski enthusiasts. Of course, between the two mountains, there are courses for beginners, pros, and everyone in between.
If skiing and snowboarding aren’t for you, there’s still plenty of fun to be had.
Hiking / Snowshoeing - The Sun Valley Nordic & Snowshoe Center offers trails perfect for a family hike in the afternoon. Many of the trails are solely dedicated to snowshoeing and have been well-groomed. Galena Lodge also offers 69 miles of trails which are ideal places to bring your pet.
Ice Skating - Ready to test your balance on the ice? Spending time in the ice rink is a relaxing alternative to skiing or snowboarding. Additionally, there are a handful of rinks open seasonally or year round near the resort.
- Atkinson’s Park Outdoor Rink
- Campion Ice House in Hailey, ID
- Sun Valley Ice Rink (outdoor and indoor options)
Watersports - In the summertime, the snow melts and gives way to rolling hills, blooming flowers, and lots of sunshine. This also means that the lakes and rivers near Ketchum open up for watersports. From white water rafting and kayaking to stand-up paddleboarding and tubing downstream, summertime is a great time to visit Ketchum.
Pool / Jacuzzi - It’s easy to get lost in the drifts of Idaho’s snowy mountains. Warm your bones in a hot tub, or take a plunge in the heated pool.
Shopping - The city of Ketchum is no stranger to boutique shopping. Just steps from hotel’s door you’ll find yourself fluttering over the many jewelers, gift shops, and clothing outlets in the city.
