NEW YORK, NEW YORK – February 2, 2022: Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest provider of sales, marketing, and distribution services to independent luxury hotels globally, has promoted Dan Coyle to Executive Vice President, United States and Canada. Tapping into more than 25 years of progressive sales and development experience, Coyle will lead the brand’s strategic direction in the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean to ensure the success and retention of more than 250 member properties. Based out of the company’s New York City office, Coyle reports to Michelle Woodley, President of Preferred Hotels & Resorts.
“Throughout his near 20-year tenure at Preferred, Dan has been committed to delivering effective support to hotel owners, management companies, and asset managers across North America, nurturing key relationships to deliver tailored hotel solutions and positively impact the hotel portfolios brought into membership,” said Woodley. “His leadership style and keen understanding of on-property operations, sales, and distribution in the independent hotel space are valuable resources that will drive further development in the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean, and ultimately boost revenue to our member hotels.”
Drawing on operational experience gained during his most recent role as Senior Vice President for North America, Coyle will now directly lead a team of regional directors based out of New York City; Newport Beach, California; Chicago; Washington D.C.; Miami, and Toronto, with the goal to enhance Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ footprint in all destinations – with a focus on secondary and tertiary markets – and to strengthen hotel retention efforts overall as the industry recovery reveals new development opportunities.
With extensive experience in corporate transient, leisure, and group sales, Coyle joined Preferred in 2002 as Regional Director of Global Sales and was promoted to Managing Director of Americas East just two years later, tasked with managing the brand’s hotel portfolio in the region. Since then, he has continuously assumed more responsibilities within North America, demonstrating an innate curiosity for the industry and any advancements that help the brand to operate more efficiently. Prior to joining Preferred, Coyle built a successful career in global sales with Swissôtel and Raffles Hotels & Resorts where he was recognized with a variety of awards, including three Worldwide Sales & Marketing Awards, the President’s Awards for Sales & Marketing Excellence, and Global Account Manager of the Year. Coyle is a graduate of Providence College where he received a B.S. in Finance.
